Here is some healthcare spending. You have a stretcher in the back of 350 AHS ambulances. Not sure of exact weight but medics say that they are to heavy to lift into the ambulance so AHS is putting new hydraulic stretcher into the ambulance for about 20,000,000.00 . so about 45000 per ambulance and spares. Now when they get to your house they still have to lift this stretcher up the stairs or over the curb which now weighs 40lbs more than they old on. Go figure. Should put in some fitness training.

I will only comment on the last part of this, they just took out the pre employment fitness testing for EMS(and it shows)

I believe it, buddy who is a paramedic says they spend 75% of their time driving old folks from homes to hospital and back when nothing is serious and drunk and drugged up indians around.

Cutting spending to healthcare and education. Ralph cut 1/3 of the public sector and it took years to get back. Some say the province is still playing catch up trying to improve the infrastructure that wasn't maintained during his time in office. I agree that todays affairs, both provincially and federally are undesirable. I just don't think a swing from far left to far right is the answer.

Ralph did make some pretty heavy cuts but that is what he promised to do right from the get go. His goal wasn't to lean out education and health car; his goal was to cut their budgets, effectively forcing these two extremely top heavy sectors to "self-trim" some of the very unnecessary fat off the top. In the end, administration kept their bloated salaries and unnecessary positions, cut the level of service, and pointed their fingers at Ralph.

Schools, government workers, welfare cases and new immigrants are going to vote to keep the gravy train coming.

Just what we need, a rant from Rick mercer.. The epitome of a no-talent CBC windbag that is only employed because of the Canadian content rules.
He’s not funny, can’t act and is now riding the homosexual train to stay employed. He should realize that (like most actors) the rest of us don’t care what they think. They’re not educated or informed on most topics and use what Little celebrity they have to spew their left wing homosexual based agendas.
Jason Kenney has run for office many times, and has been elected several times by his constituents. He represents the people of his riding and when in federal politics has represented the country. He gets airtime because he is a leader and has relevant things to say to the people, unlike Rick mercer(among others) who get airtime because misguided laws require that Canadian artists be employed even though they are grossly untalented and create nothing of value or worth watching.
If homosexuality is something that all these snowflakes consider a trait to be proud of, why are laws being created to hide it from parents etc? They say it’s to protect students, but could it possibly be to allow homosexual advocates and possibly predators a time and place to indoctrinate vulnerable kids to their way of thinking?
When a government starts creating laws to inject itself into family values and dynamics while ordering teachers to be conspirators of secrecy, we should all be worried.

Or it could be to protect a kid who may have a homophobe father who would not take kindly that the kid is gay.....
I like Mercer, he's funny as hell.

To each his own. I think mercer is a no talent taxpayer funded hack. As for the homophobic father comment, it’s not for the government to decide the morals of a parent or family. If the father is abusing the kid, there’s laws against that and then the police get involved. Further to that, what should the government do if some confused kid says his dad doesn’t like homosexuality? Take the kid away? Boot their door down and arrest the old man? Send him to be re-educated about the merits of homosexuality?
Allowing the education system to operate in secrecy from the parents is a very dangerous precedent to set. Once the law is on the books, under British common law the law can be amended via an order in council. That means the education minister can amend the law however the government sees fit without consultation or publicity other than a mention in Hansard.
For example, the law could be amended to include instruction and activities. For example a teacher in a GSA might decide a speaker from the man-boy love association or a field trip to a homosexual bath house would be a good idea, all being kept secret from the parents.
Sexual predators operate using fear and secrecy to control their victims. Having a law that legitimizes secrecy from parents and allows authority figures access to impressionable kids is a train wreck waiting to happen. We’ve all seen priests, Boy Scout leaders, coaches, teachers, actors, politicians, (and the list goes on) sexually abuse others. Providing a venue for potential predators to line up victims is preposterous.
Just watching the education minister slither around on the news sets the alarm bells off for me.

Just curious pano-dude. Do you have kids?

I do have kids, I believe I have raised them well enough to make the right choices. They know they can tell me anything and I would do anything for them.

Your argument is not without merit but it is based on a worst case scenario. Are there predictors out there ? Yes in all shapes and sizes but to generally say they will target this group is over the top.

You really think this is a rational statement?

"For example a teacher in a GSA might decide a speaker from the man-boy love association or a field trip to a homosexual bath house would be a good idea, all being kept secret from the parents".
This kind of thinking is exactly why kids kill themselves rather than come out as gay.
