cops! got to love them!

I saw a guy pulled over today! chevy 1500 with a steel sled deck and two old tundras on the back! what do these sleds weigh? they must be the lightest sleds known to man next to an elan......well DOT had him on scales.......I saw him at the gas station! they nailed him for being over weight (must be the steel sled deck lol).....tires not high enough load rating, and a few other things like tinted windows, and a cracked windsheild! he said it cost him $1200 and he didnt have the two sleds on the back of the truck! a friend came with his trailer to pick up both sleds.......glad to see cops/DOT are crackin down here in sicamous! I guess he is legal with a steel sled deck and his gear only!

Glad I have the 3/4 ton now!

I would have never guessed a steel sled deck would weight that much! I guess that is why you cant give them away and alum decks are the only way to go! I removed my box and built a Alum Sled deck on the 3/4 ton! 1500 I guess they are made to haul one sled with no deck! not even winter and they are all ready out! man that could wreck a holiday!

All I know is that those cops go to accident scenes and see some pretty horrendous stuff, it's gotta take a toll on their minds. They are given a set of laws to enforce and I don't blame them for showing some gusto in enforcing some those laws and doing their job. If I was a cop and seen one dead little girl because somebody overloaded their vehicle and lost control of it I gaurantee I would take a personal interest in getting all overloaded vehicles off the road.

even funner when they have Passanger tires on them.......ever see the DOT chevy? when they have their scales in the back, and the back end is squatting 4 inches......with passanger tires, not load D or E......who writes them a ticket lol! I think they are going to be cracking down on this......they need to make money in tickets since alot of money got cut to pay for vancovers two weeks of glory!

ya but also remember two people in it, with out gear and fuel is 400 pounds now start adding up your fuel in the truck and gear! the steel deck will put you over unless it is made in china.... where they skimp out on using propper steel......but then the deck will break and you will loose your sleds and kill some little girl. loose loose situation! steel decks should be band!

how many people would phone the cops if they saw a 1500 with a steel deck and something on top! (quads/sleds) ???????? or would you let them continue down the road?

should they have not fined him but let him drive away or have to unload them before the truck moves??????

I removed my box and made a 200 pound deck! I also had load E tires, and was under my GVW when I had my 1500 last year! I double checked weight and was legal! just saying that steel deck is a total no brainer on a 1500

no deck maybee this winter , but i run 08 f350 harly ford and a triton 4 place flat deck trailer but the whole tire thing sucks i guess my coopers m+s 35s wont pass the cops either hey?
