Coolest Non- restricted guns

Before ever deciding on buying a gun check out prices and availability of the ammo first. This never used to be a problem, but it is now. Start with say the 45-70 ammo. Hell even 22 ammo is not as easy to acquire as one might think.

Thanks to everyone for their input. Yes I have been stocking up on .22LR and was checking the availability of 45/70 and it's really hard to find. Lots of choices to make and in the end I think I'm going to have either pay someone to re-load for me or start a new hobby... Re-loading�� regardless of what gun I decide to buy.

What's that puppy worth and do you have to reload or can you buy bulk ammo?

The pic I posted was of a bare bones XCR. They go for around $2500. I have lots of goodies on mine like leupold optics, laser, light, sling, case, extra mags.. its chambered in .223/.556 You can not reload cheaper than you can buy crates of ammo. I paid $289 per 1100 rnds at Canadian tire. Shoots very clean and have never had a jam.

Another thing to consider before you buy is weather NDP or Liberal will get in power. We had several years of freedom with our firearms, do not think this will continue with a change in government.

Who cares what might happen in the future, you cant not buy a gun because some day they may not be legal. WHen they tried to ban the vz 58 the prices went up and they were hard to find because everyone wanted to buy one.

Wow I never really paid any attention to those Henry mares leg or rossi's. I didnt realize they where so small. I just told the old lady, one would make a great stocking stuffer!

A .223 and 5.56 are two different rounds. The weapon is either a .223 or 5.56 not both.
I have a .223 in my guncase and I'd never run a 5.56 down the barrel.

Your right they are really different. Common mistake thinking they are the same I think.

Yes and no, even tho it's safe to run a .223 down a 5.56 barrel there are other issues that can result in doing so.

Wemacs link is a very indepth read that explains it all.

Bottom line if yah have a 5.56 just run the proper ammo in it.

I've always just ran .223, easier to find and I've put 1000 rounds of that through my xcr with no issues.. yet

Thanks Wemac good info; now I know why that AK-47 that I had years back had trouble cycling. The gun was chambered for NATO 5.56 and I was buying bulk .223 rounds. The gun was supposedly chambered that size so that NATO enemies could use the same ammo if they found or stole it in the field.

Aquired this beauty recently. It's a 1980's reproduction flint lock.

It has a 42" Pennsylvania long barrel and is a 36 cal. operates perfectly. What a fun gun to play with.... but don't stand on the right hand side while it's being shot!!

You are correct sir. If all else fails...call the manufacturer of the rifle...I did. My barrel is stamped .223 Rem if it were stamped .556 it would be a restricted weapon. Can burn nato rnds through it all day long
