Would make a good defence weapon if one wanted to use it as that. 9mm hollow point. Wouldn’t have to worry about shooting in the house as much as a normal caliber ar.

Looks like we are of the same mind. Dagger SAP 6 12g. Found this arrow box that fits it pretty good for staying out of the elements but still have to find a spot in sxs. Bought the box at crappy tire.

I found a supplier in Vernon of 32-20win. he can bring it in any time. I picked up a couple of boxes over a year ago. Its not a rifle that i ever shoot but more of a collector's.
The rifle cartridge is longer then the pistol, so no it won't.

BTW that 1894 30-30 carbine you have is a beauty, love that rifle.

So i just thought i'ed throw this out there.
I was off for 7 week's in the fall for surgery, so i needed to keep my self busy with something simple.
My son hunt's and he has been bugging me to go once or twice with him, atleast for a walk. I don't hunt and every firearms i own is either a collector or range shooter.
So i came across this US made Savage arms #4 mrk1 303 enfield at a garage sale. Picked it up for $45.00
So this became my post surgery project for Oct. and Nov.
According to the info i have the rifle was made in 1944 and has never seen action in the war.

I replaced the original wooden stock with an ATI Monte carlo poly stock to give it a modern look, with some forearm trimming got the barrel to float pretty good.
Installed the ATI scope mount and went to CT and picked up a cheap 3x9 Bushnell Trophy scope.

#3 303.jpg #2 303.jpg I was having so much fun and had so much time on my hands i decided on cutting down the barrel from its original size to 18" and then giving it my own crown before bluing the barrel.
You can see the front sight has the bayonet mount still attached to it.
Here is something also interesting about this rifle, the barrel is only a 2 rifle barrel. The US government did this to increase production for the war effort. Is it accurate, well before doing so the military tested it firing 10,000 rounds from the #4 mrk1. It remained just as precised as the 3 and 4 rifled barreled enfields...interesting.

#6 303.jpg There were limited number of these made from Savage Arms. I think it's like 200,000 compared to the BSA 200million plus #4 mrk1. and Canada's Long Branch 330,000.

This is the only thing i have left to do. I'm going to convert the 10 round mag. to a 5 round flush mount mag.
The yellow is where i will be cutting it, this will give it it's final modern look.

Ok two more things i want to say, one the cost of this fun project. $365.00
Rifle 45
Stock 120
Scope 120
Scope mount 80

How does it shoot, at 100yrds 1 5/8"group consistent with cheap FMJ 150gr $18.00/box.
Next time i go to the range, i going to take some match grade. I suspect the rifle is capable of sub MOA with match grade.
Not bad for a fun cheap rifle.

Wow, 0.1% of the population has signed it. I'm sure the Liberals are shaking in their boots.
