On a 09 M 1000 would I need a fuel controler if I did reeds, airbox, and Y pipe changes? Would I be safe without one above 6000ft? Will I need to add weight to the primary?

No need for a controller vern. use premium fuel and maybe two extra grams of weight. run at 72 to 7400 rpm.

why risk a 8000 dollar sled to a meltdown that could be prevented with a 300 dollar power commander 5 box? Worth some piece of mind i think. M's are hard to keep an eye on the plugs and piston wash all the time because you have to pull the pipe to get to the plugs. All it takes is one cold snap to lean the fuel mixture. There is more information and a smoking deal on this in another post for the power commander 5. With the autotune it can tune your sled for you!

I've got spare a BD box here, might throw it on for now. Going to go with some pyros and see whats cooking. Can always pull the box if it doesn't require it.
