if no one offers one up they are only $29 @ cambodian tire.... worth having one around and cheap insurance when buying...

Anyone on here in Calgary have a compression tester I can borrow tonight? My friend is going to look at an '06 Summit in Olds and I want to check compression. I can come by and grab it

That'd be great! My friend is picking me up at 6 then we are heading up to Old's. When and where could you meet up?

Ya' sure, come in with some good information and spoil the fun!

I was going to make popcorn 'cause it seemed like this could get interesting as Bogger is a long way from a tool………he's too short to be a long ways from a tool, therefore, he must be a tool!

If it doesn't work with Modman I live in Airdrie right off the #2 and have one as well.

I would be more nervous about the crank bearing at that mileage, had an 09xp with great compression detonate last season at 2800km and the mechanic at the brp dealer said on the phone if you get over 3000miles consider yourself lucky(Shannon from stojans is a very well respected doo tech in our area and this is straight from him) other than the miles it looks pretty nice, good luck with the sled:)

The 06 had one of the most reliable motors doo made in the last 10 years. I wouldn't be that concerned with 3000 kms. My brother in law has the red 06 adrenaline, just like the one in the ad, and has almost 5000 kms on it. We regreased the pto crank bearing last year, and double checked the compression this year. It is still 150 on each side.

Ya I'm a little concerned about the km's too. It's actually a really nice sled and looks well maintained. Started one pull no problems. Went into reverse no issues with no throttle required. Seems to be good.
Hasn't had any too end work, shock work or clutch work so I told my friend that will all probably need to be done as well as testing the crank run out. But he was keen on that.
So he bought it and is super pumped. I'm letting him store it at my house since he lives close.

Looks pretty nice, rev chassis sleds are still great for sure, sounds pretty mechanical so I'm sure you won't have issues and after reading the top post about the strength of the older 800r motors maybe the 08 and newer were more the problematic motors, looks fun though, safe riding

Hey Rowdy, make sure you check the chain as well. Pull the cover for a clean up and inspect the chain very close. 06 were great machines but that was one possible weak spot. I have seen broken links but still attached to the main chain so you have to have a good eye.
Also as mentioned pull the primary Clutch and the PTO seal cover. Get 4 new screws for the seal cover from the dealer before you start as they will be buggared by the time you get them out with a Chisel.. Check the Grease ( ISO) look for grey and chalkyness of the grease. Should be almost white (cream) and not chalky. These 2 items when address will be sure to give your friend many more trouble free miles.

You made a good choice 06 was Bombardier's stellar year!!! The 800 HO motor is bullit proof. My son has the same exact sled which he purchased 3 years ago from our neighbour. Have not done a thing to it just regular maintenance (which I have just finished for the pre-season) and have not had one problem and he rides that thing like he stole it LOL. Thought about putting a DJ clutch kit in but just have not got around to it, besides right now that thing goes where ever he points it!!!!

Oh does anyone know where I can get the manual for the '06 for him? I wanted to make sure he had it.
