My 2009 m8 seems to be making a clunk by my left foot on the board when I hit the gas from a stopped position. I dont think it used to do this as bad.I just got a new track put on could it be something to do with that?

That could be contributing. Check if there's an ice chunk stuck in there... If I hear clunking, the first thing I do is throw it in reverse to get any ice chunks out that may be stuck in the front of the tunnel. If it still clunks, you have issues.

Track tension might be out a little, buddys did this until we adjusted it. souded like it was racheting, more predomanent on the left side. Check the conditions of yor drivers also, he found 1 with a partial broken tip.

My Dad's '09 Polaris also makes that noise when the helix shifts from it's reverse position to forward drive position. The odd time it will do it from a stop too. Could be that.

Mine started doing the same thing... My buddy recommended I change the rollers and spring to see if that helps.

It is a loud clunk as the clutch engages...

I pulled the secondary off to see if the splines were broke anywhere but they looked good. Pulled the bottom drain plug on the diamond drive case to see if there was any metal shavings on the magnet(while it was flipped on its side)and found out there is no magnet on the drain plug????Meanwhile another m8 came by and I checked his for clunk and it does the same as mine, so I think this is just an arctic cat thing. I mean the secondary has a lot of play in all of them if you turn it back and forth by hand.My arctic cat dealer said ride it and if it happens to pile up it will be warrantied as they don't even mess with the diamond drives, they just replace them. I did notice that the 2010's changed the rollers in the secondary, there is white ones and goldy colored ones(the 2009's have all white ones). Guys are having problems with the gold ones breaking.
