Clutch heat?

Ok i was thinking the other way with the belts. Think the 060 is different material , like Kevlar or such. So holding it pinned up the mountain is not the same??? Sorry just askin not stirring!

There is quit a bit of difference spinning at 40 or 50 mph with the sled under load and the clutching at hopefully a 1:1 ratio [best] or 80 mph with the clutch shifted out [worst] . At high speed the belt cant grip enough of the secondary and starts to slip = heat = blown belt

Well I got the call from Echo today.

The clutches were out of alignment, out of square, belt deflection was wrong and they were dirty. lol

In all fairness, I have a black diamond adjuster and when I blew my last belt I had moved it a bit to get the belt on and didn't reset it when I got home. The dirtiness of the clutches is no surprise either since I just blew 3 belts in 70 miles. However with everything out of whack the belt dust would have been excessive.

This should certainly reduce a ton of heat I was seeing, and I'm sure performance will be much improved!
