Lots of avys in Afghanistan over the years. There is some pretty high mountain ranges in that country. A lot of the fighting over there comes to a halt in the mountain passes because of snow and avys.

Well finally they can predict with certainty a grand solar minimum is coming "ahead of it coming", it will be sticking around until 2053. I always believed the saying... history repeats its self... same goes for the sun. (Wolf minimum) 1290-1320, I liked reading the story of the great famine 1315-1317. (Maunder Minimum) 1645-1715 The great frost 1708-1709, 600000 dead by 1710 .. great stories to read going into our 30+ year minimum.
