(Okay Marco,T, and Homer,,,,,,, Procedure for recall installation)Okay Marco,T, and Homer,,,,,,, Procedure for recall installationWas the recall supposed to move the oil tank away from the gas tank. I am just not sure what it was intended to accomplish. Need some info???
Thats not good. Will have to check mine out. You would think the fix would be foolproof unless the dealer did the repair wrong?
This is going to be interesting. I just picked up 2 sleds on Thursday with recalls done at 2 different shops and haven't gone riding yet.Not sure if I want to!! One sled has about 3/32 gap and the other has1/16. I read what was to be done as a recall?????? not sure what that was supposed to do to the oil tank? I have no problem with the dealers as they are doing exactly as they have been instructed to do. I will see if I can get a decent picture of ours to show.
Heres the pic of the clearances between the oil tank and Jackshaft....... Bernoff used a 3/32" rod to gauge the clearance (you can see the rod sticking in the gap between the tank and shaft).... Apparently this will end up being issue #2....
Looks llike the BAND-AID fix may have made the situation better in the case of the fuel line, now we just have to worry about a less flammable liquid flying around our engine compartment......
That pic is the old mans sled.... Mine has less clearance..... like 1/16"...... Looks like my trip is done too.......
At least if u caught it the fuel would just evaporate and leave no mess, now Young-Gun's got oil all over the place.....

So I agree with Young-Gun... CHECK YOUR SLEDS PEEPS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It is crappy I'll admit. I still haven't done the recall on mine and I am still riding it. Just texted my dealer about this and sent him that first pic. Could be worse at least there's no $3000 heli bill
Had recall done on my sled. Went for a ride yesterday, and parked in shop to thaw out. Walked by sled this morning and saw oil on floor!!! My oil tank is touching jack shaft!! WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
