Chain case life

Just wondering what the life span of the chain is are you guys putting a new chain every year ? Every 2 years? Running it till it blows the case apart? Upgrading to a belt drive after 2 years? Whats everyone doing

Run it till its blows then you know on your next one you need to change it 100km before the first time !!!!

Depends on mods, and amount you ride. Personally, on a stock sled I used to replace the chain every year or 1400 miles, whichever was sooner. In recent years, I have abandoned the chaincase entirely, and run C3 belt drives on all of our sleds, including the 2013 ProRMK that had the factory Quick Drive. I never worry anymore, and if I ever have to change a belt on the mountain, I can.

I have almost 4,000 miles on my 2011 assault & am ordering anew one ASAP but haven't had any issues so far

Change oil on regular basis and set chain tension often and you will have no issues.

I've never replaced a chain in 45 years of sledding. You do have to maintain them though.
