Can't wait for it to be implemented.

I was crossing 109th street on a few occasions, and luckily I was watching while walking across, because I would have been mowed over.... ALL driving with a cell phone in their hands!

I can't get over how many peeps drive brand new Sport Utes and still drive that way. Do they make a cell phone that does not support Bluetooth?

do you actually think using a hands free device is any better than actually holding the phone, it's been proven that people are just as distracted. The reason hand free devices are still going to be allowed it that it's not possible to prove that you are actually using one while driving.

Now when people send a text, they will do it with the phone at their waist, instead of beside the steering wheel, where they may be able to see some of the road at the same time.

Been in effect here for a while, not sure it's made a real difference.

To be fair, driving a two lane highway while talking is a pile easier than say, the crowfoot in Calgary. It makes sense for some of the idiots you encounter driving in cities.

all i can say is people keep your friggin rugrats at home, they are more of a distraction than any cell phone, you made them so do something about the little pukes. and those with cats and dogs keep them at home, tied to a tree not looking out the friggin windows or on your freakin shoulder.

keep the friggin beasts at home

It is still a distraction, but not quite as much.
When a person has one hand up to the side of his head holding a handset, the other is steering and signalling. If they are using their left hand, it is usually resting on the window ledge, and blocking their side view.

I use the SYNC in my truck, and it can be a distraction, but not as bad as a one armed driver figuring out how to signal in a traffic circle with a stick.

Yes sometimes if I am in a conversation that makes me have to use my total concentration, I pull aside, or at least stop talking while doing an intersection.

As for not being able to prove you are on the phone while driving...
they can check if you are texting while driving, if you cause an accident.... so why would being on the cell be different.

i drive with one hand on of off the phone... and i'm pretty sure i'm not the only one lol

the real problem is people put the conversation FIRST (or any other task) and driving second
i try not to talk on the phone so if someone calls i usually ignore it... if its important and i do take the call they ask if i'm even part of the conversation which i then reply "no, i'm driving see ya!" lol

CSI: Miami
the problem isn't really doing these other tasks.. the problem is people putting these other task in the driver seat......

YEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
