Snow was good. In some places it was coming over the hood. Like usual out there you still have to watch out for stumps etc. Also no grooming. I'll see if I have a picture to post. This picture is at the top of skyline.
Jan. 22. Myself and smokindave went south and staged out of cataract.Had a great day found some pretty good snow for this time of the year. Thanks Dave for the fun day.Cheers.Sorry about the stuck pictures. That boosted sled can sure dig some big holes.LOL
Staged at Etherington today.
Trails near the staging area were a little whooped but not really bad.
The further away you got the better the trails were.
Must not have been too many longer tracked sleds out today. We rode some untracked fresh stuff on a few trails and it was pretty deep. Deep enough that I found out my track was too loose and started ratcheting. Quick fix
I was amazed that no one else had ridden these yet. Great day, lots of sun and only -1.
Careful when you come out of the staging area back onto the road. It's a little slick and with the weight of our enclosed, thought we weren't going to make the turn.
We had long tracks too.162 and a 174 on Boost. We talked about going over the divide. But the High Avy conditions kept us away.Glad to here it was good over there as well.
we were there as well pulled out a sled i did set off a small avy back there just vibration did a small pull and curve out just above idle and low slide was prob 60yards wide and 40 deep slow moving no real threat but a good reminder
Had a great day over the pass!! Lots of sun and good snow! The trail up was about as good as it gets for fording. There was a fair bit of slide activity.
i was out with neddacsac... had to much fun riding to snap any action pics!! so here are a few scenery ones.
bhowes - where did you set off the little slide?? those bowls in the back are a sketchy climb even in the best of conditions, if not because of avalanches, then because of all the rocks you'll hit!!
Hey Snowmobilerecyclers, stop eyeing our machines...you can't have them, they still run way too well to retire them. My two are the 99 Summit X
and the 98 MXZ 500.The third (far right in picture, you can just see the tunnel) is Plattler's 96 MXZ 583.Mine have just rolled past 5000km this last trip and Plattlers just turn 2300km this trip.I still love the old S chassis Doo's.Although,I do think we were the oldest sleds at the Etherington parking
lots on Sat.Have never had to pull any of them back to the truck ever.I will stick with what works for now........
I just rolled over the 7000km mark on my '07.... been towed out a couple times... there is no way it is gonna last 10+ yrs!! good on ya for keeping them alive!
Myself, bennito, ditchpickle and 2 others went out over Fording today. We had a great ride.Lots of stucks, laughs and good times.A few pictures.Trail is pretty whooped going there.......We lost a Go pro helmet cam. Pm one of us if you find it please. Thanks. Cheers.
Were the other guys Brett and Jeff??? If so Brett (dadeuce) is my nephew, and probably his helmet cam that was lost. He was going to get some vids yesterday. Dang!! Sounds like a blast......I'll have to give him a buzz.
