Cats 600 makes 130 hp. .216 hp per cc
The 858 at 182 hp makes .212 hp per cc
Seems plausible. Trust the science.

So a new 858 makes more power than a 850 turbo…. Still not adding up.

I know a 850 turbo, despite brand, is typically underpowered but the OE’s wouldn’t leave that much on the table.

A 850 turbo will make more power at elevation than the 858. Turbo R will make more power basically from the parking lot as it is more than just an altitude compensating turbo. The only advantage the 858 will have is quite a bit less weight and other efficiencies in the drive train and chassis.

This sled could be the N/A to beat

So whats the pricing going to be like and availability? Hasn't Cat been dropping dealers like flies the last few years due to their unrealistic inventory demands on dealers? Good to see innovation and new product but how many guys that ordered the 600 are PO'd now that they're stuck with a 600. New chassis or not, I think those 600s will be tough to move on the market.

Should be the best N/A sled on the hill if it is reliable. Too bad that since 2020.5 no one has cared about the best N/A sled...

The most powerful "bigbore" from all the manufactures, the lightest and most efficient chassis.... This sled will absolutely rip. After seeing the new chassis in person and how low the engine sits, how far forward you are and the new belt drive system, this will be the funnest sled for trees, creeks and drainages... hands down.

I'd want a turbo sled but can only ride a NA. 99% of the riders only need a NA sled but they aren't as cool.

A guy don’t need to bang hot chicks but it’s fun, a guy doesn’t need millions but it would be cool, a guy doesn’t need to drive a sweet new hellcat but why not, don’t need a nice big house but space is nice. Turbo sleds put a smile on the operators face, and if the pocket book allows I say givr

I dont know what these new cats cost, but i know a new 9r isnt any less expensive than a new turbo.

Can’t buy a new turbo for $18995. And there’s wiggle room on that price if your serious.

Lots of guys backed out of their 23 when they showed up in April. Then the 24s showed up in August. Lots of stock out there.

Thats sucks if you payed 27.last year.

Sleds depreciate hard too. Can get.a used turbo g4 for 10g now.

Yep, had a dealer in red deer area wanting to trade a new boost last spring for my 2018 Polaris general, I almost had him down to no difference straight across deal, but I was running outta time before I went on my last sled trip and ended up trading for a used 23 turbo r and cash instead. He really seemed like he wanted to deal

Ralphy's still has a 2023 154" for $18,900 on the website, so guessing that the 2024 858 is going to be upwards of $22-23K with all the upgraded stuff.
