sorry i must have missed something.
what new technology are cat and Polaris developing?
first altitude compensating mountain sled? oh wait nope
first direct injected engine? oh wait nope
first mountain specific skidframe? oh wait nope
first 3" track on a mountain sled? oh wait nope
first 174 inch track on a mountain sled? oh wait nope
first 850cc engine? oh wait nope
first electric start without a battery or starter? oh wait nope
skidoo has always been leading the industry in development. in 2008 and 2017 there were SOME issues. remember the only sleds that have issues your going to hear about that on the internet. no one will say how flawless their machine runs.
if you think the new wobble cat or polaris 849 arent going to have issues your sadly mistaken.
where was polaris with the liberty 800? LOL
Wrong. Yes BRP bought Evinrude for their tech not only for working on a DI system for sleds but also for their marine portfolio. The engineers worked with Evinrude engineers to make this technology transfer over to a snowmobile 2 stroke engine. Marine engines do not run near as close operating rpms as a 2 stroke engine does. There was a lot of work to get injectors to "signal' fuel pulse at a speed that would work on an engine that has an 8000 rpm max. The Rotax engineer gave quite a long presentation on this at the 2011 dealer meeting on how much a challenge it was for Rotax. Evinrude did not hand them that info. They had to work for it.Doo BOUGHT their fuel injection system as part of evinrude deal - not invented
How many patent infringement suits has BRP lost?????
lol
It was a Maxwell post...........totally 162% unbiased.....
G4s doo fire up the conversations well beyond 162%!!!

If you have kids that sounds like a verse outta baby shark. LolMy sled purchasing/riding history
Cat-Cat-Doo-Doo-Doo-Doo- Today its a 2018 Mountain Cat
The Cat had some very good reviews so pulled the trigger.
Haven't put a mile on it yet but I wasn't buying a new Doo and kept the XM just in case.
Lots of holes in your argument, but you get props for being loyal, but just ask any Oiler fan, being loyal stinks after awhile lol
Fixed
what about the the torsion spring rear end they are still using? Hey Ski Doo...1969 called and wants it suspension technology back. How about a telescoping steering post...oops no Cat did that first. How about a 4 stroke mountain sled? Nope, that was Yamaha. etc etc
example of why ski doo is falling short? Doo offers a rail brace kit right on the build website when you are ordering a sled..geez you think maybe you should just build the rails a little stronger instead of making the customer pay extra for your lack of engineering..like holy sh!t what a fail.....motor alignment issue back on the XP......plus many others. Who builds a sled where you have to remove the suspension, motor and subframe to replace the weakest link that bends? well, the service guys are happy with that I guess.
In the 90's I was a die-hard Doo guy (1996 first stock sled to go over Jackson), but it seems like they went from making good sleds, to making weak sleds with a bunch of fancy gadgets they rushed out before the R&D was done, in the the hopes it would keep customers coming back (and it did for a while). Now that the other players have caught up, Doo's just not that special (maxy and ferniesnow's yellow undies are still a little tight i guess).

Bart, I have had no reason to change my loyalty. I left Poo due to motor issues back in 2004 and I'm not like some who put in 4 motors and still tout the brand! I'm a happy camper with my dealer (Bow Ridge Sports) and my salesman (snopro). Life is good even with tight undies.
Now I see why you’re so loyal.... What happened to the boys that moved Mr R to Lethbridge? Snopro’s golden tougne didn’t work there..... even some of his oldest loyal customers have fled his side. Why?
you should walk across the street to Mountain Toys... I’m not even a Poo guy, but I’ve heard they’re decent guys. Is Scott still there running the show?
In a nut shell, the boy's who moved Mr.R's to Lethbridge were fed up with Corporate BRP and their required building changes. They had a chance to sell and that's what they did. As for snopro and his loyal customers, I'm pretty sure he still has a loyal following. He has treated me quite well for quite a few years now.
If I have a great thing going at Bow Ridge with sales and service why would I walk across the street?
How would you know it’s great if you’ve never tried?
