Do your parents know you are using the computer? LOL
He’s not saying you are a liar , he is saying you are judging a community on what sounds like an isolated incident.
I guess you might as well add Edmonton to your no gas up zone .

Firstly he has said I am spreading misinformation. I am not spreading it, I simply passed on my experience with that club which does not like non residents and prefer to maintain exclusiveness in their riding areas. The claim that I am spreading misinformation is insinuating I am lying about my experience. My experience with the club representatives is accurate. It’s not for someone else to tell me I am not correct in my opinion based on that.

My resulting distaste for the community is based on my experience of the club members, who are community members and being that the majority of my money goes to sledding 6-8 months a year, if a particular communities club representatives are not welcoming what further reason do I have to have anything positive to look forward to in that community. How do you know it’s an isolated event? If they are aware they have members like this who are actually representatives of the club it seems they prefer this approach.

What’s laughable is that something so minimal as suggesting I wouldn’t support the community by not even fueling my vehicle there has attracted more of the attention than anything at all. I see the butt hurt is real but these small communities do rely on tourism contributions and it’s my choice to not support it. The actions of a few may affect the many, nevertheless it’s my choice.

If that’s to difficult for your small narrow minded view to see stick to Facebook trolling.

Sounds like it was a traumatising incident. Sometimes feelings get hurt so deep that there is no recovering from it.

If anyone ELSE would like to check out the koots.......pm MOMMA or I and we will do our best to hook you up.

Is it pretty good riding in Creston or what? If I wanted to buy a membership would they sell me one or tell me to beat it?

Never been there yet, but I have run into some less than friendly yocals in the koots before, so I kinda know where takethebounce is coming from.

That’s twice you have excluded me. I see nothing has changed. Not that I would want to ride with someone as entitled as you.

But it doesn’t matter. I am sure there are some great spots I will never find there on my own and I know there is some very good riding on both sides of the area.

Maybe you shouldn’t take off the cuff comments about something as simple as a fuel stop so personal. I guess thin skin is an issue around there even though you tried to pretend it was a non issue you made it a large one.

It’s rather encouraging to know all this.

You make it sound like a membership is $5000.

Season pass is cheaper than a weekend of skiing.

I can't believe how resistant people are to buying passes.

I can’t comment on what it is now though I bet it’s not $100. At the time when I wanted to join it was $45 or something silly. I couldn’t wait to hand over my cash.

Well....I never got one but know lots of people who still ride there and have since shown me around.

In them hills.
Hi guys. Not gonna lie.. I was avoiding this thread as I had some hurt feelers, and a couple tears of frustration... but I decided to put my grannie panties back on and come back here.

Jeff, for clarity sake, any of the BCSF clubs can apply for a permit for closure areas, we are kind of the test pilot, but I have worked with 3 other clubs to help them get their permit application in on the Front Counter BC site. It's a very new process, with a few bugs to be worked out but it's getting there.
Another thing to make note of, if you are an existing member of a bcsf club, to join another, you do not pay the 36.75 ish BCSF portion of that membership again, just the club portion, making it more affordable.

I really do appreciate the positive feedback, and my intention is to help us gain back not only lands, but credibility in the eyes of the Ministry, COS, the RIG group, General population of Starbucks and Cement general public who are fed loads of crap and believe it, helping us preserve and protect our riding areas by being a part of the process and solution.

Thanks again.
First of all, Good work Momma and thank you!

To all the jackasses that are bitching I assume Trish sees you at every meeting?

Won't pay for a simple cheap membership.
Don't have anything constructive to contribute.
Basically useless human beings.

Its ok. There is better snow out there, and the terrain is pretty steep and treed which we have found "outsiders" arent a big fan of. Not alot of open stuff. The best thing about the area is that there is so much untouched. Not that many people that ride here for the area we have so there is always fresh to be found. Really short rides into the riding areas too. I wouldnt drive here from revelstoke though.

As far as the unfriendlyness thing.......that is everywhere with certain locals Ive found. Ive gotten that vibe from people from every area. Lots of good people in those same areas though. I see both sides having been an outsider and a local.

Oh yeah forsure, good people and bad any where you go.

But if I show up to Creston with red plates and some sasky boys would they sell us a membership or is it locals only club?

Just wondering.

Well hopefully some of the guys are done with there venting and we can get back to topic. Trish I would like to hear more about the process on getting these permits. Also which other clubs you are working with to help out. Are these permits only for areas that are confirmed there is no Caribou left? Are the permits a matter of just filling out and applying or are they based on approval from Gov.
thanks.

So it's a very new process, I've reached out to Nelson, Cranbrook, and a New club in Ymir to begin their permit applications. They are vetted through the Ministry and areas that are confirmed to have no caribou left is one of the criteria that prompted this permit process. Here's another article that gives a bit more information.

I just love the Sasky boys!! You know what, I don't think I've ever seen people more eager to support the club than the Sasky boys we have come visit our area. I met a new friend a few weeks ago and man that guy was such fun. So thankful to be out in our area and eager to help. We actually have quite a few out of town members. So happy that the riders from Idaho and Washington are super supportive of the club now too. Plates really don't matter, it's a person's attitude that really dictates whether or not they'll be embraced by our community.

Does this permit cover specific locations or is it good for multiple closures?

Nahh we have A hole club members too just like any other club lol.

Mr Cat, I'm waiting to see what it will look like as we haven't received our permit yet. So far what we know is the South Selkirk and South Purcell closures are the ones being focused on in this permitting process. I'll let you know as soon as we see our permit. It shouldn't be too much longer. I checked up on it yesterday and we're in the final stages. They are also focusing on streamlining the Permit process on Front Counter so it can be easier to apply for with more clarity.

It sounds like the permit holder is required to belong to the club that is overseeing the area. In our area the only closure affected is outside of the only clubs area, how fair is it to force people to join a club where they don't go just to be able to ride in their area? Confusing, I know, but it's the reality here.

But what I'm getting at is who can buy a pass? Do you have to know someone or whats the deal? In revelstoke all you need is 200$ and you can buy the pass all over town.

Thanks

Heck no. We really welcome and appreciate all of the memberships we can get. I'm truly sad that someone had a negative experience in our valley for we're actually pretty awesome people.

Lots of things to consider for sure. The permit is issued to the club, not individuals. I really do appreciate feedback that I can take back to the Ministry and science team. You do bring up a good point and have got the wheels turning in my head. As with any new process, there are bound to be a few bugs to work out.
