We used to use one similar to this made out of solid steel. Used it to move some ridiculous sized trees and as a pry bar when things got jammed up in the splitter. I agree that tube probably wouldn't hold up to heavy duty use but it's probably fine for the odd tree here and thereBuy a good one and you won't throw it in the garbage after one summer (if that piece of skinny tubing lasts the summer). Yes, they are $100 but well worth it if you cut any amount of wood!

Also found a log roller & lifter for 20$ on sale at princess auto .. sure nice for lifting logs up to cut out of the gravel at the campsite !
