We are now officially the worst team in the CFL after Toronto and BC's wins this weekend. However there is a glimmer of hope. The Riders today fired their head coach and offensive coordinator. Ken Miller will reassume his position in the interim as the new head coach. That is a good move right there.

WE just felt bad for the other teams with all the winning we have been doing over the last few years. Must have decided the bombers and Eskies needed some self esteem back. LOL GO GREEN GO!!

The Chicago Bears today released 14 players putting Andy Fantuz on waivers. If he clears waivers he may then be free to rejoin the Riders next week. Anybody out there follow the NFL enough to know how the waiver situation works down there? Just wondering how long he is in limbo to be picked up by another team before he can come back to the CFL.

Fantuz says if he doesn't get any interest in 48 hours he will be back to the Riders for the Banjo Bowl next week. The CFL won't let him play this week for the labour day tussle.

So what now Rider Nation? We lost Fantuz to the Tigercats and big Geno retired the same day. Looking grim for next year.

Aside from losing Freeman to the NFL, I think we have had a good offseason so far. Geno isn't what he use to be, and signing Labatte and Picard has made the o-line significantly better. If Bagg can come back healthy (fingers crossed), it will help offset the loss of Fantuz.

I agree but it is always a sad day when you lose a hall of famer and a future hall of famer at the same time. Baggs helped Fantuz and Fantuz helped Baggs. Getzlaf will have to take it to the next level as well.
