disappointed to see very little interact as the booths. I know I personally would have spent a lot more dollars. Sorry CASH is not user friendly any more. I did enjoy the show and it was nice to see a lot of old friends

those of us from the States can only take credit, but all our customers were more than happy to use their cards or spend cash...it was our best show ever.

Was at the show Saturday and bought a pair of Klim bib pants, sure the discount was not that great but when you consider I have had a hard time finding a dealer where I live the show was the next best option. Give the southern Alberta show a few more years and it will become a lot bigger and better.

Want to bet? I give it 2 to 3 years more MAX and it will die....One show is enough....and as much as I HATE to say it....EDMONTON is the better choice for it....the show organizers were dropping booth space cost just to fill spaces that were empty right up to Friday.

I kinda have to agree with you on this one fab. I think they should centralize it to one town and have a big one there. Have it in red deer at the centrium. Then its right in the middle for calgary and edmonton vendors to comute to. I personally think that the edmonton show is way better than the calgary show, but i think its cause there is more sled related and custom shops there compared to down here in calgary. Just some thoughts

I think Red Deer would be a great location!!! The central location would attract more southern sledders and not that out of the way for the northern sledders. The Centrium would be an ideal location lots of room and very easy to get to:)

I'm with Fab I have been to both shows and the 2 times I'm been to Calgary's is pretty dead compared to Edmontons. I was there at prime time on Saturday parked at the front of the parking lot and there was no line ups.

As for holding an "Alberta" show in Red Deer I think that would be a mistake it would only draw a few more people from the the Red Deer area. If Calgary folk won't go to one in their own town they will not drive to RD for one. and probably 60% of the Edmonton folk wouldn't drive to RD for the show either

All i was gettin at is having one show though. I would rather drive to red deer than edmonton, just cause its in the middle. The calgary show has always been smaller and the edmonton one bigger. I think they should just combine the 2 so that its one show with the best of both towns. Just a thought. I dont mind drivng to edmonton, but to go for just a day makes it a long day. Now red deer is 150km from calgary and 160 from edmonton. Its kinda in the middle. I know there is a big sledding market in the northern towns also, and the market is up there, but there is also alot of sledders from southern alberta that would like to go to the edmonton show, but its to far. Just my 2 cents.

What if the show rotated towns a little and ran a year in Edmonton and then the following year in Calgary??

I thought about that as well Lori but I believe that the Edmonton show draws a lot more of the Northern peeps from places like GP, Ft Mac, Hinton, Edson, Whitecourt etc then the Calgary show does drawing Southern peeps from places like Lethbridge, Brooks, MedHat, Taber...and I know lots of peeps who would drive to Edmonton for the day including myself if I knew there were some SMOKIN deals to be had or something that I really wanted to see first hand before I purchased.

I don't think that Red Deer would work but you never know until you try it.

OVER!!!

ps...Lori you had a great set up at the show and was nice chatting with Randy....:)

Good point murminator... The Edmonton show is much bigger, and draws more people. Not much point in moving it to Red Deer... Either keep it the way it is or just have the one show in Edmonton. Moving it to Red Deer would more than likely cause people from Grande Praire and other northern towns not to come... Edmonton is the most central place in Alberta... If there wasn't a show in Calgary, I would drive to the show in Edmonton. I do see where you are coming from catzuki, but I don't think the response would be very good if it was centralized in Red Deer. That may be a good poll to start.

We used to have a event here in Red Deer called the sports spectacular. It was a bunch of retailers that would purge last years stock, or stuff they couldn't sell. It was a great deal I used to go and buy t-shirts, sweat shirts for working on the rig..."yes that was back when you didn't have to were coveralls" Anyway everything was cheap my brother in law was one of them "Jersey City" He sold all his out of date stock for a couple bucks over bare cost. He said "we don't make a pile of money but it actually saved money due to allot of the stuff never ever sold it would just take up valuable warehouse space". Then some retailers saw how busy it was and tried to sell all their stuff at full retail after 2 years of this it was started to dwindel no one ever went. Why go and pay $20 to get into a show and buy something that you can buy online or in your local town for the same price. For me this sled show is heading down that path, as far as buying stuff. If you wanted to see some nice sleds, a couple so so trailers, and a very cool but out of this world high priced camper this show was for you. I was disappointed that so many venders had so little stock, I was told by many that "we have piles of them back at the shop" all I could think is that if you had one here you would have one less, having one at your shop does not do me any good here at the show when I'm from out of town. Sorry for the long winded rant but for me I won't attend again if I'm going to buy stuff, I'll stay at home and have it shipped to my door from the states.

The show in Puyallup, Washington was the same weekend as the one in Edmonton. Being from Calgary I hear this is a must to see next year. Somewhere a 12 hour drive from Calgary. I know a lot of people are thinking about going next year. The dollar has to although stay were it is! Hearing from people that did go this year, it is a show to see.

I had a blast at both shows, Edmonton, is way bigger,, but a girl told me once bigger isn't better,,, and I believe her....

I'd be dissapointed if the Calgary show died.... for two days, it's not bad,,, very comparible to the Saskatrchewan show, and much better than the BC show,, but I'm off to the BC show tommorrow and may say they are quite equal... We'll see..

After 4 yrs in Edmonton and Calgary and this will be my 3rd yr in BC,,,, You Albertans ROCK!!!!!!!
