I'm no political guru. My sister is on city council in Red Deer. So I live through her when it comes to PC chit! I complained about one of those stupid things in Red Deer. She said often they are funded by the federal gov so if you don't do it u lose out on that $$ being used in your community. It all seams very retarded but I'd rather have a 25 mill bridge here that our contractors over charged for and employed locals to build than send that $$ to another prov! Im not saying in the big pic I agree but it's not all bad.

It'll cost alot more than $25 million, whole thing had to be repaired. A buddy who was a welding foreman on it told me some horror stories. Better not say what on a public forum, but pretty shotty workmanship.

The reason for the Talus balls was someone snuck in a provision that 1 percent of a project had to be use to buy art for the area. We spent 560 thousand on the pile of balls and it wasnt designed or built here, it was done in California. I am pretty sure that we have artists of high caliber here in Canada. Someone in our city council really should own up to this fiasco. What nutbar approved your Bridge Rowdy? Someone related to the mayor?

it's funny how elected officials find that they can waste our money as they see fit. They should be held accountable for their flagrant misuse of our tax money

Yep, they make a good wage, spend it that wrong it should come out of their pocket. I bet it would only happen once.
