Buy a Snowmobile Pass?

I am actually amazed how many people either don't buy a pass and support their local club or grumble at the price of a day ticket! It is a shame, that this sport is run on so few amazing volunteers who work tirelessly at keeping areas open by going to meetings with government or other user groups, something most of us don't want to do, create grooming programs, look after cabins, and the list goes on.

Where I am in the Whistler Corridor there are a bunch of areas people only go as they don't have ticket checkers there, those people will be the first to complain when either ticket checkers show up one day or that area is shut down, it is our choice!

I often here people say that we should not support shops who support projects like the sierra group, however not buying a snowmobile pass is like 1000 times worse as it affects our bottom line and shows we can't even manage ourselves. Please do our sport a favour and purchase a pass this season and encourage your whole riding group to do so. I know many of you do but this is for those who do not. Happy Riding! dave

I agree, buy a pass to where you ride as this shows support and helps keep trails open, and, maybe more goverment support to open new trails and groom. If more purchase passes, the goverment may notice and alot more resources to this user group

I recently returned from an area where passes where not available, nothing was maintained either. After the two days of punishment on ungroomed trails my wife can quote me on this "I will gladly pay for day passes as long as I don't have to suffer through that BS again". And if you can afford a $14000 machine, premium gas,jacked up diesel, tricked out trailer, travel expenses and hot tub fees seriously quit being a tight ass and pay the trail fees.

Yah my first time I was like ch!t... This is weird and no one told me so I needed some one to spot me. Then we went to a less known area that was not maintained and wholy hell but the last day I was sitting down driving 5mph down the trail up and down the 3 foot bump. The groomed trail is worth its weight in gold after a long hard day/ week.

Buy your trail passes....but more importantly, get involved if you can. Some of us are getting pretty old and tired. I just spent 2 hours last night on a BCSF wildlife committee conference call, along with that other old guy you see in the first video (sorry Ron), trying to figure out how we deal with the latest media attack on our sport by the Ministry of Environment. Make no mistake people....we are at war, we're losing, and we need your help!

Support your club and your riding areas with money and time. If we dont seem dedicated to our sport it will make it easier for them to close it down.

Being from Calgary and not in the area's where I ride, how can I as an individual do something to support the BC clubs where I enjoy to ride? Other than buying my trail passes of course.

Just buy the yearly pass, and encourage others to stay out of restricted areas.....we have to police ourselves.

Some of the bad press sledders get is of no help either..... seems like when there is an avalanche with sledders involved, its front page news....when its skiers, ya hardly hear of it, except from the avalanche society.

Great banter guys and like someone said the government is involved with some great people. However with some yahoos doing what they want, it makes it twice as hard when those who deal with the Government People to show what we mean! Think the next time you think it is your right to go where every you want. If we can't control ourselves then the gov rules will follow and none of us will like those rules....same with dirt bike, trials, atv give when you can through time, talent or treasure!! That way when we enter into battle with gov't or the enviros we will be able to show we are representing more people, therefore maybe being taken more seriously. ( People = Voters to Gov't). We continually hear how enviromental groups represent thousands of members, even though most of them have never seen the area in dispute.

being from calgary and the calgary club not having a home base so to speak (although trying to resurrect cataract)i am a member of the crowsnow riders we have our meetings on the first friday of each month .... i cant get down to most of the work events in the summer but do what i can to help in the winter..... being on the executive we get a complimentary trail pass i buy the other and do the day pass thing with the little girls sled when she rides it....and the day pass route when i ride in b.c.

I am more than happy to buy a trail pass or even a member ship to a club even if i am in the area for just a weekend. What is a extra 20 to 50$ or more to ride on groomed trails that mostly done by volunteers out of the kindness of there heart. I do not live in one of these areas but what they do for the sport is mostly unrecognised by us that get in our truck and drive out there every weekend to have fun. Buy trail passes is the least we can do.

oh yeah that's right ,we only ride the weekdays to save a couple bucks. not to avoid all the weekend crowds and fresh weekday pow. duh
