What about axles?

after talking to paul at rubberdown he has ran the stock axels and they work good, but like he said its all about the pressure of your thumb lol,so i am leaving the stock axels in if i start breaking them then i will upgrade,i also have new high lifter springs

i have not had any trouble yet with the stock axles running 31's. make sure you get the sld kit from quad shop customs while your at it. get some 1" wheels spacers to go with the lift. the lift narrows the bike up alot and it looks funny.

The SLD kit is a spacer that goes in the slip joint in the transmission. There is a slip joint in the transmission of the 850 so when you put big tires on it and put to much tourque on the drive train it will allow the transmission to slip instead of blowing belts or axles. to bad thing is with 32's you will be constantly hitting it. Once you hit it enough it will wear itself out and make it easier to slip. I think the kits around $80.00 from QSC. It is very easy to install just very time consuming as you have to remove the transmission from the bike. which means tearing apart basically the rear half of the quad. When I put the lift on my 850 I put 1.5" spacers to widen it out. I never road it without the spacers but the bike did look very tippy. the tires were suckes in right undernieth the fenders.

I gotta agree with AreWeThereYet. I'd upgrade the axles if your riding on 32's. I broken axles can really put a damper on a weekend when you snap an axle. Weld a pipe on over the relocate rad. it may not be pretty, but neither is a crushed rad when you flip your machine.

I put on 600 miles this summer with 30" silverbacks and 31" outlaws. Part of it was stock suspension, some a 3" lift and some just spring spacers. I never broke a single axle. these new 850 axles are pretty tough.
