brute force backfiring

Hey everyone so Ive got a problem with my 2011 Brute 750, Snorkelled it this summer worked awesome, this winter plowed snow with it and now it runs terrible while plowing snow! It runs as if the override button needs to be pushed in high and low gear...thought maybe it had froze up but after the warm weather we were having there was no snow left on or around it, fired it up lastnight and plowed with it and it is still doing the same thing! can anyone help me out??

Try changing your spark plugs. May be fouled up a little and not getting hot enough to burn off.

Good luck changing the rear plug without pulling a bunch of plastic off. Lol.

Any lights flashing? Sounds like it may have went into limp mode. They will sometimes do this at 100 hrs just so it forces you to check the belt etc.

I dont have much plastic left in that area...lol! Thats a great point it only has 280k on it so that limp mode thing makes alot of sense i will definataley be trying that as well. Thanks i appreciate the ideas

Isn't there also a pesky belt sensor that puts it in limp mode and needs resetting from time to time?

The belt would have to be trashed to flip the swith inside the cover. The manufacturer has the module put it in limp mode at 100 hours so you'll take the cover off and check the belt and switch. But you don't have to. Just reset the module. It's in the manual how to do it. Takes about 10 minutes total. Not every machine will actually go into limp mode at 100 though.

Camo is correct. My KVF 700 didn't go into limp mode until I had around 500km and my 09 brute force did it at 1200 km. the belt light should be flashing if that's the case.

So I just wanted to let everyone know that it was the fuel pump that was causing me all the grief. At an idle it ran fine, but when you give it fuel the pressure would drop of to half the pressure.
