i lost that stupid plug when i popped the top side of my 2nd belt, i just threw some of that 'pet proof' screen over it and like someone said 'extra venting' plastic welding smelding haha xp's need all the cool air they can get! well atleast mine does!! haha

the only problem is that its right infront of the primary down low and any snow that hits that clutch acually causes more heat from belt slipage and most people don't even realize its happening. my 3 cents

I'm noticing a trend here....... Dealers have to see that there is a issue with these sleds / belt, clutching, hand warmers, twisted off secondarys. Tell me that you guys are not having to pay for your belts and etc.? And the damages occuring from this problem. If you are....... that is insane. The dealers know they are eating belts, the riders know they are eating belts.......... There's definetly a problem. If you bought a vehicle and found out that the driveshafts were falling off of them........ and had to pay for it............ I'd be squealling.
Hope you guys get reimbursed....... for everything. It sucks when your climbing and..... kaboomb.... no zoom--zoom.

Dude its really not that bad. I haven't blown a belt yet in 1200 km. I beat this poor thing like a rented mule most of the time, exept when I run outa nos. I've been SOOO lucky with it. I've rolled it, crashed into trees, hit rocks and even ran over pine cones with it and lets not forget running the damn thing on diesel for a few k (a later story :D) It did leave me in the bush once and that was because of a dess post. I weighted my clutch, changed my top gear to a 19 tooth now and I think all is good. I wouldn't trade my ride for any brand. I have not had to pay for any changes from my dealer. You have to remember that ski-doo out numbers any other sled 4:1 so you will see 4 times the amount of revs getting fixed. my 40 cents

Hahaha...That was a good one... You will see changes in how the ybuild the xp for next year. They will have to make it a bit more customer freindly.. Also there have been driveshaft issue's cause it's a 3 peice shaft, and one end is spinning cause it's not welded good enough.. The hand warmer issue was a kinda crappy one to.. But next year should be a really good year for both doo and CAT, oh yah baby.. It's lookin sweet...

Well they havnt let to much out in the last while, but they will have to fix the drive shaft. And you have to beleive that they will make things more consumer freindly..... At least i hope, cause a cat m1000 for '09 with a boss seat, holz rear skid, aftermarket exhaust will be about the same weight as an XP for this year...

Repair is done. It don't look a whole lot better but should be affective. Atleased I got it straight enough to put the plastic cap back in. :D

KUDOS on the repair! Looks good and it appears that it shouldn't be too much of an eye-sore as it's underneath the sled. Just try to keep that side down and no one will even know....LOL!!

Well actually had a similar experience with a street bike when someone put diesel into one of our fuel cans and didnt mark it as so... Didnt even think to check it, just poured her in and tried to fire it up.. The bike hadn't ran in several years so when it started out running rough didnt think to much about it.. Then it started to smoke and didnt smoothen out.. So we started to investigatre, found the diesel.. It smoked for quite awhile after we changed fuel back to gas to...
