I agree with the OP.

As to why, my theory is a recessive gene causing spinal fluid blockage in a small percent of the population. This blockage is aggravated by constant swinging of the upper body, like when you are riding a Doo and trying to steer.
To call them bullies is a bit of a overstatement. Maybe "internet bullies" is a better term and should be coined for social media cause they do gang up with the the leaders cheering them on as they take advantage of newbies questions, much like a schoolyard.
I am sure if they talked their talk in a group of actual sledders, without a nudge, nudge or wink, wink and a chuckle they would find it hard to keep their helmets on.

To the adminstrators. The longest threads here are dominated by a few. Usually for negative effect with profanity and name calling (again like a schoolyard). It's totally unnecessary (some might even refer to it as a lack of manners) and locks out possible opinions or help from more mature or realistic readers.
A good rebutal can be very informative and fun but why bother if by the end of the first page it is already turned into a bash fest. I think it hurts this site and is a shame because the broader the opinion base the more likely real info can be had. Everybody deserves to be heard without the fear of negative suppression.

So fricken eh! That's the god damed truth from a Polass kissin newbie.

Soo no one should post anymore lets see how well this site does. Posts are posts Internet is the Internet just ignore it and move on. It's not hard to skip over a post

I think your missing the point, Sean. Why is there a need for all of the typical bashing when someone starts a new thread, that is just looking for info. Yes it is the net, and we all have the right to overlook and ignore post's.

Quad, I'm not sure where your frustration is coming from. Please link to some example posts that you think are uncalled for. As to working toward improving the issue, I recommend calling people out immediately when they post something inappropriate. Throwing out generalizations like "all of the typical bashing when someone starts a new thread" doesn't help anyone get better.

I would rather read the brand bashing posts than lame threads like this where everyone believes they are holier-than-thou. every brand rider posts in other brand threads. yes, even the yammie guys bragging how their boosted sleds will annhialate anything stock. does everyone do it? no...but there are enough azzholes on each brand to make up for the ones that don't....nothing is going to change.

What's wrong with poking fun at other brands? We all do it, no matter what your riding, or driving.
I hate it when posts disappear with no explanation and only a mod can do that.

unlike others. some ppl actually believe sledding and the brand they ride is their life. personally i could give a rats ass if you rode a fat chick holding 2 skis around the mtn. then on the other hand id probably have to stop, tell ya she looked over weight and point ya in the direction of the nearest jenny craig for a lite weight diet. lol

What really sucks is when someone asks a question and there is all of a sudden is 5 pages of useless crap about willy being an ass or my sled does this or your sled has this problem or bla bla bla. Too many threads get hijacked by assmunchers who think their choice of sled is the best for everyone.

douchebag
An individual who has an over-inflated sense of self worth, compounded by a low level of intelligence,
behaving ridiculously in front of colleagues with no sense of how moronic he appears.

lol...love it...you should re post that in the thread about the idiots jumping the roof on the sledding cabin at Revy...

Back to topic... I suppose it is human nature to defend your purchase, as it helps you justify it in your own mind. I've ridden a lot of different iron this year, and have in the past as well. I have a2013 M1100T, my wife rides a 2013 Pro RMK. These sleds were our individual choices. Does this mean my sled is the best? Is hers the best? No, but it means it was the best "fit" for us as individuals. All of the new iron is competitive, but what works for one rider may not work for another. I usually look to this site for failures or potential issues so I can address it before my next ride if needed, although it is extremely difficult to sift through the trash talk & garbage. As a result I spend more time on Snowest, where as a paying member it seems to "weed out" a lot of the trash talk. Glad there are choices out there. I'm of the opinion that you are better off to buy brand "X" from whichever dealer provides the best after sales service and customer support - these are the things influence my sled purchases. If you have a great local dealer - support them, or they won't be around in a few years. The "big box" stores are killing the industry in my opinion - I've always found better service & support from the smaller, rural stores. Might be something to think about when you order your 2014...
