I got an e-mail from Boss industries about warranty coverage. However, I do not see a serial number on my seat. Does anyone know what I should be looking for? Can anyone check their seats for me to confirm?
The only numbers I can see is the SDXP thing on the bottom front lip.

Thanks in advance.

Boss Seats Customers,

Thank you for your patience in the zipper mishap. Please gather some information for us so we can take care of this before the snow flies.
1. Serial # (off the bottom of the seat)
2. Where it was purchased
3. Your info, Name, Number, Email, Mailing Address
Then email or call me with the information.

There is three options you have to choose from.
1. Send us the seat and we will repair the zippers under warranty.
2. Send us the seat for the upgrade and we will replace the old cover with the 2010/2011 cover for $50.00 (normally $225.00 and the new cover will not fade and consists of YKK waterproof Zippers)
3. Pay for the upgrade and we will send you the new cover. You can then have a local upholster pull it on. (which will be cheaper than shipping the seat back and forth)
In all instances the shipping is covered by you so take it into consideration.

Again thank you for your patience and lets make this a great winter.

The SDXP should be what they are looking for. This is what tells them exactly what model of seat you have because they make more than one seat for each model of sled.

take off your seat and look underneath or the easiest is looking in the turbo tow strap compartment and you will see a number there. Boss is willing to send people new covers for there seats. They are wanting a $50 charge however people on snowest are saying if you hassel them enough they will send it for free. So us boss seat owners should all make a point not to pay.

CUSO, Thanks for posting this. Both myself and Leedoo have placed our request for the new cover. Hopefully the new zips work a lil better.

I think we should start a list of broken zippers out there and do a mass mailing/complaining to Boss.

Haha....they told you to deal direct because BOSS is a horrible company to deal with. Great products, just takes forever to get anything. I worked at a dealer and we stopped carrying their products because of the lack of support. Didn't want to be a 'loser' that sent my customer directly to the manufacturer, but couldn't handlie dealing direct myself anymore.

Good luck with the warranty. I wish you all the best .

Just the ones from last year are defect.

To the poster that said you will fix it on your own,,,,,,,, After calling the place I bought it from twice and having them refer me to Boss, and then E mailing Boss and calling once with no reply ( That was all last spring),,,,,, I emailed the store once more with an email stating that I was not impressed with their customer service and that I , as a Small business retail owner ran a very successful bussines and that customer service was the main reason for our success, and that I would never do business with that store again and would tell all my friends ( I dropped a few of the bigger Club association big wigs names, that I am affiliated with) to follow suit.

I got an Email back within an hour from the owner, and a number for the Boss rep, who she said would call me immediately. He did.

As stated earlier in a post here, get the number from the store you bought it from and call the rep. He will give you the option of sending your seat back ( You will pay for the shipping both ways) or he will send you a new cover ( $50.00 upgrade), with new and better zippers and new and better fabrics, and you will have to put it on or get a upholsterer person to do it ( Need a special stapler)

Hope this helps.

I know who you got it from and it shouldn't matter. I'd call boss as they should still honour the deal.

the reason all your stores have told you to deal directly with Boss is due to Boss giving out gift certificates for the upcharge and shipping to you the customer, who will be named on the certificate so if your dealer sends the seats back to boss you will possibly not get any certificates .becouse i know we have not got any with the seats we shipped down for customers with there names on the seats ...... the new zippers look nice and tough .....This is how Boss wants the warranty to be taken care of ......
