whats the power to weight ratio of these things,I have my doubts about these bikes and for 20g you can turbo a sled.(sled @turbo)I have bin told its a bitch to service the high output 4 strokes from my buds that ride dirt bikes .Alot more 2 stroke bikes are being sold cause of this.if the yamaha RX! motor was built like these 450 bikes it would have 200plus hp stock.Am i full of sh@t ?

4-stroke's are not a bitch to service, maybe compared to a 2 stroke as you don't need to service shiat....Mix oil and carry spark plugs. But the power and torque compared to the 2S is well worth the servicing. Change your oil's/filter/ & clean air filter regularly.
Possibly SS intake valve's and you have a motor that will last a few hundred hrs.
I wonder what the fuel consumption is like with that turbo ?

pfffftttt with 100hp I don't think you would need a track just a good sand tire with 90 mph wheel speed would probably do hahah, yeeesh and I think my kxf is fast now would love to feel the pull with double the hp

How much does it cost to do a service on a 450? Can a backyard mechanic do it or is it best left to the pros? How much for a full rebuild on one of these engines? Complete engine?

Valve lashs take a little time, measure, pull cams and change shims under the buckets, re-install cams and check clearance, hopefully your within spec., if not repeat. You need to have a decent selection of shims.

I want a snowbike just as bad as you do lol, but I am still not convinced they will hammer through or up as much snow as a sled? Never been in the mountains on a sled though so I would like to hear from someone with an unbiased opinion. Not someone who says their snowbike is king because they just spent 20k on it and they are trying to justify the price.

Dude I don't have one,,, I ride a sled... I raced Moto-X for ten years tho and id pay 20k for that thing. Plus I could get a 450 for 3500 and build it up way better for like 15 or 16g.... An average rider could make Cris Burrant look like a chump in the trees with one of those things...

Said and done, start to finish it doesn't take long to have 20k into a sled either, may of us do. Maybe it wasn't all done off the hop but factor in maybe the first year the sled is stock, next year you do some clutching and gears, then you do some reid work, mabe change the ski/track a few air vents here or there that sort of thing add it all up it gets pretty close to the 20k mark. If you read the earlier posts I was a huge skeptic too, but after reading more into them and seeing a few vid's it really changed my out look. Its not meant to compete with a sled, apples and oranges. its meant to be a completely different experience on the snow. Not sure its a chute puller but looks like a lot of fun.

depends on what kind of kit...I have the timber sled long track and I paid 12,000 for bike and kit ha-ha.

Great, now all the douches around here that ride straight piped, big displacement, 1 lung 4 strokes can make their noise in the mountains too. :/
