Just saw a white eagle going up the blind man river this evening. It was spotted earlier this afternoon on the red deer river.
What bridge did you launch at, just west of Penhold?

Is there a place to launch into the red deer river by Blackfalds down in the Burbank area. It is all closed up at the areas on highway 2a just south of Blackfalds.

Few of my favourites have been up the Parsnip to Arctic Lake, Tuchodi a couple times was fun, really enjoyed the trip up the Toad river to moose lake, the Kakwa up to lower falls is beautiful, also really enjoyed the run up the Kootenay , we put in at Canal Flats went upstream into the mountains , never saw another boat . But we are kinda spoiled here if you like skinnier running. We have the Wapiti in our back yards , it’s a fun river all year , just depends how much touching and sliding you want to do. The top end from The Narroway to as far as you can go on the Wapiti can be fun , challenging , impassable , depending on water level and personal rock to aluminum tolerances. Not much pea gravel just big sharp pointy rocks, Boat repair guys love this river !! Lots of great trips so close .

PS, forgot a nice ride. Went up the Walker Creek road outside of McBride put into Mcgregor about 30 ish Kms up , we’re heading for Hedrick falls , got sidetracked , went up Jarvis creek till we hit a big log jam, then up another small creek (Ross will remember the name) were only a few miles from the Big BC sledders chalet but ran out of daylight. Still gonna do Herrick falls sometime.

Went up to Hedrick falls first time couple yrs back, what a day trip! Shot up the Bowron river as well, both got interesting in some stretch's!!

Same trip different day we put in in McBride and did the Fraser to mouth of the Rausch river and went up it until we literally couldn’t go anymore, started climbing pretty steep, was only pools between the rocks .

buddy owns a place south of Bentley on the river, bit challenging to get in out but was fun, could only get from green bridge south of Bentley to the old burnco gravel bridge west of hwy 2.

Very good. I was standing at the bridge on hwy 2A south of blackfalds when you guys came through. Looking for a place to launch the mini. So you can't come up from the Red Deer river into the blindman?
