We were in the coulees today and it was awesome.
First sleds in with 8" on the trail for last 15 miles.
I'm sure there hasn't been sleds there for a couple of days cause all tracks were covered and snow was over the bumper.
I bet only 15 total sleds there today.
Definitely worth the ride in.

What's the access like for salmon? Still park at the same lot but drive up towards foam before you branch onto the new trail? Assuming 4 place season is still good with the temps cooler in the valley?

We rode Salmon yesterday. Snow was great, however access is terrible. They are logging on the road so the trail is diverted past foam then up. The trail is whooped up bad and beats the **** out of you before you even get close to the single track.

Are they not grooming the new trail? Thought they were.

When we were in salmon monday the snow was awesome, unfortunately it felt like we did more trail riding then mtn riding.
The trail was rough but it was not bad. If the trail pass operator says there were lots of sleds on it and it has not been recently groomed, id be concerned.

Just curious, using the trail heading towards Foam then cutting across to access Salmon and Groundhog - how much further is it into those areas, compared to the normal trail up which is closed due to logging?

Snow conditions are excellent and the trails are holding together well. Staging from the parking lots and over the hood deep up top all day yesterday.

Me and buddy were the only ones up in Salmon today. Had to drive up the FSR road approx 15km , which was surprisingly a smooth highway all the way up! Was a beautiful day up there , sunny and probably close to ten degrees , a few inches of fresh snow from this past week had the all the tracks covered . I would caution anyone that plans on going in there the next couple of days that the very first corner of the pussy filter is ready to slide , as it has fractured above and slid down a good 3 to 4 feet , making it extremely sketchy to cross.
