Most snap on stuff has lifetime warranty. Doesnt matter where you buy them. However with that said there is stuff at costco that is marked snap on. I am sure if you had issues with it you might not get a dealer to warranty it. Depends on what it is.

The Costco Snap-on is a made in China knock-off. Look carefully at the logo as it is not the same as an American Snap-on.

I have the Snap-on multi-tool (it is not the real Snap-on quality), a work bench stool (that seems to be okay but I haven't used it very much), and the Snap-on air compressor (20 gallon for $212.00). The compressor motor seems fine but the manifold system is cheap pot metal and mine broke in the first week. I know I can take it back but I made my own manifold and so far everything is working good.

This is just what I have found and my experience may not be the same for all users.

That is the other thing to look at. Snap on is not always the best choice. Look at Mac and even crappy tire, princess auto etc. I can usually tell the quality of tools buy looking at them and feeling them up. :nono: I dont always buy snap on now as some stuff has gone way up in price but the quality has gone down. Just like Sears canada did years ago. It used to be top notch then they started making their stuff in another country. It went to ch!t. The sears usa stuff is still quality.

My snap on stool that I have had for about 12-13 years cost 350 bucks. It has lasted. The others you buy have never lasted more then a few months under the same use.

All snap on, mac tools have local distributor trucks. These trucks have most everything you will need. The best thing is that they let you buy tools on credit. At a low interest rate too. All you need is a credit card. Now I'm not saying to go out and buy thousands of dollars in tools. Pick and choose what you think you would use every day and buy those first. Buy quality, not by cost. You won't regret it. For less used items, buy cheaper stuff.

It isnt anywhere near the same quality, BUT if I was buying it all over again I would be buying alot of the cheaper stuff. When I bought alot of my stuff the cheap stuff was total crap.

Mac or Snap-on or Mastercraft. All three are comparable in the handtools department. I have all three brands sitting in a toolbox i never use anymore after a career change a year ago. Air tools i would only buy Mac though just for the dependability and cheaper than Snap-on. Towards the end of my trade career i was starting to buy handtools for cantire just because if i broke something i could run down at lunch or after work and have it that day, not having to wait two weeks for the dealer truck to come around.

An old local snapon dealer that sold out a while ago once told me a story about him taking a tour of the snapon plant. he said wrenchs, ratchets and sockets would come off the line and the line split in three. one stamped snapon, one mastercraft and one westward.
