Look at a 98' 670 summit X, they were a fluke from the factory and actually had the 99' motor put in them. The S-chassis is a very capable chassis and can accept a 151x16x2 (my dads sled runs that setup). They do not need any engine mods really aside from clutching if you go a bigger track setup, they already have a tuned pipe. Food for thought im 14 as well and can throw the sled around pretty easily.

Those old rotary valve engines were great in their day but I have found that reed valve engines are a lot more reliable. Also I can not understand why they put such a poor designed starter recoil on them. If he is only 120 lbs a 670 is not a very good choice IMO...not enough hp to pull the rip cord on them! lol I guess you could always add electric start and a battery. ;)

the 600/700 are reliable i only killed mine once in 16000km but i had some mods aswell for half that. 800 not so much.

seems like more moving parts is never a good thing but to each their own

For $1000 more than your budget you could have this if it is still there...not sure if there is a catch or not but appears to be a good deal given the mileage...

Looks like the stickers are off too so you could pass it off as a 600

How does this CCA website work? There are no phone numbers or contact info???

You can keep your old rotory valve engines! I never had good luck with them. They were designed back in the 60s...ahead of their time back then but not now. The "cheese cutter" design closes one intake port going up and the other going down...different jetting is required to make them run half decent. I just never got along with them very well. They would be running great and then POP...then buddy needs a whole new engine. I never had those problems with reed engines...easy to jet and way less problems over all with the ones we had.

25 pulls to start a rolled sled? Hold the throttle wide open, pull it twice. She'll fire right up, run kinda weak until the carbs clear, then be ready to rip. :d
