Looking to replace the Oem headlights on my 1500(hi and low). Kinda looking a bit yellow these days and want them to be a similar colour as my light bar..suggestions as to what brands work well and which don't?

I'm not looking for HIDs btw.

Piaa , as they have a no question asked one year warranty.
Just need proof of purchase .
Silver stars are good also as had them but pain to get warranty.
High low bulb burn out. H11 if I remember right. 9005 for high beam.
No to the HID unless you do it right and change the housing as well.

if you buy your sylvania silverstars at part source its really easy, just keep the package they came in and they keep everything on computer under your account. i drive a lot and find the low beams go right around 1 year and the high beams will last years (less use) on a chevy

i was 1 month over and still went to part source and they gave me a 1 time replacement (if your bulbs keep going before 1 year you can keep getting new ones for that original purchase price, over and over)

Better than the sylvania silverstar ultra is their silverstar zXe High performance halogen, Also the Phillips crystal vision is a very good bulb. Piaa is overpriced IMO.

Piaa bulbs are not worth it they my first one burned out. At 11 months parts source had to order a new one in on warranty
as they quit carrying them due to so many problems
second bulb burned out. 2 weeks after warranty expired switch to silverstars they lasted 2+ years and still going

Good info. Just wondering if I was throwing money away on the Sylvanias. Is the light output any better or is it more just for colour?

The Sylvanias have much better light than normal bulbs, also last time I put in some GE Nighthawks and I think they give a bit better light than the Sylvanias.

Silverstar Ultras put in for hi-beams. Better than stock but didn't blow me away. All in all an okay purchase. More light out to the sides and down road a bit.

Phillips makes a halogen bulb called an HIR-1, they are incredibly bright. put a set into my wife's '06 Envoy with positive results, far brighter than silverstars or the nighthawks. you have to shave a little plastic off the base to make them fit in a 9005 or 9006 housings but it's easy to do and well worth it. I read about them on candlepowerforums.com
