for brackets like skekpro had a pic of you can get at almost any forklift parts supplier, some will have mounting brackets.dont know cost but maybe worth a shot to check and see different styles ,just a thought
Hmm, I will check with my forklift supplier Monday.

Hopefully I don't have to buy the whole assembly.

I would like to replace the toggle latch band with the one on the bracket I currently have.

I filled one of those bottles till the pump would not pump anymore into it at -35. Nothing happened to that forklift bottle inside at +15... dumb dumb tested.

Isnt a forklift bottle rated for a higher pressure and the relief valve is set higher?

I threw a cold propane bottle in a warm genset shack once then the relief valve popped and caused a runaway on that old deuts diesel.......man I'll never forget that sound!

The mechanic rather save the engine instead of rebuilding it so he ran towards it.....never have cold propane in warm building, just keeper outside I'd say

How do you guys keep your furnaces on when traveling? Is the exhaust at the front of the v-nose?

Should not be a problem running a furnace, fridge etc while running if they are Auto ignition which most are. If it is a pilot light, your furnace will just go out and the thermocouple shuts off the gas and your trailer will be cold.

I would definitely not put bottles inside the trailer unless the cabinet is enclosed on the inside and vented to the outside. I have seen numerous relief valves letting off pressure with a 10 degree rise in temp and it just depends how full they are.

Same for batteries which gas off hydrogen when charging. Quantity is small though and will generally only blow up the battery which usually happens when you have a spark at the terminal while boosting (personal experience here boosting a D8).

Forklifts must be different as a full bottle for an RV will start pushing liquid propane down the line. Run a tiger torch off a regular bottle that is full and lay it on its side and you will see exactly what I mean. Not sure if the difference is in the bottle, the regulator or both on a forklift.

Even a relatively small amount of gas will do significant damage in an enclosed space. One of my clients had a radiant heater malfunction and the resulting "poof" shifted a 50 X 150 quonset on its foundation. Sheared off some 3/4 inch bolts on one wall and ruined two 16 X 24 doors. Was about $50K to repair.

I suggest caution here unless the main reason you like barbecuing on the gas grill is the possibility of an explosion ;).

Lol, solid points.
Explosion in the sled trailer would crack that thing open like a pop can in a microwave.

The forklifts are connected to the liquid port on the propane bottle.

There is a vapor port to in the tank but it is unused on my Toyota.

I think I am gonna build a wood cradle to keep my second tank secured under my sled deck. Safer.

Haha. Yes - some of my thoughts are from personal experience and others by paying for other people's learning.

For what it is worth, have yet to see it (an explosion) in a sled trailer but I think the knowledge is transferable to that application.

Mint, that's a real nice setup.

It’s way better now with 100 lb’r. I can put 5 mountain sleds in that trailer and set the heater for as hot as it will run and everything melts and is dry by the morning. I also keep the lockable bands in the trailer so when I’m parked at the hotel or lodge I throw em on.

Warning!!!
there are several warnings out about propane tanks

First and most important as all recreational propane is used in the “GAS” state
and as stated never leave, transport or store a propane tank on its side or upside down
the vent and discharge tube are at the top to vent and provide only GAS.
If it vents propane gas it is say 1:1.
If it vents liquid it expands 270:1. Now your in deep sh!t.

Propane expands. Propane liquid will expand 270 times as it changes from a liquid state to vapor state. For example, 1 gallon of liquid stored under pressure in a container will expand to approximately 270 gallons of vapor if released to the atmosphere.

second warning is all propane tanks must vent to the outside atmosphere
all RV tanks are mounted outside on the hitch or frame
if mounted in a cabinet they vent though the grill in the door or grill in the floor of the cabinet but never venting inside.

I think the best trailer propane is the belly tanks
A bit pricy
Out of the way
do not load down your hitch weight
ie a standard hitch with a 2” ball is good for 500 lbs
an equalizer hitch with bars attached is good for 1000lbs
so be careful to not over load the hitch and the truck hitch
