All I'm saying is my clutch was on so tight that over 250FtLbs on the puller would not pop it, in fact it bent the puller. Water trick had to be used. When I torque my clutches to spec, they pop off nice with the puller like they are supposed to. And the clutch was pulled off the next day after coming back from the dealer. Not even ridden....... Never in my 40 years of sledding and working on sleds have I seen a clutch that has been supposedly put on by a professional, that effing tight...

This is pretty common. Always use the water trick on Polaris sleds. Now that your puller is bent might as well cut the tip off and use it for the water trick. If you're doing the water trick I recommend leaving a ****ty belt on it and putting towels/blankets between the clutches. Polaris clutches are disposable after 350-500 miles.

1500Km and still comes off smoothly with puller. I dunno why you would say " It's Common" Except for it being "common" for people to over torque their clutches..... Which is prob more true to the case. And on the statement of the clutches being disposable..... Maybe Overtorquing them? Don't use a Tq Wrench for many things, but some things are pretty damn necessary. Rods, mains, head bolts, and clutches......

I personally have had nothing but bad experiences at Backus. I had a rear track shock break apart on a new sled on its first ride in Revy and they would not warranty the shock. This was on a Friday, they had a new shock in stock and they wanted me to pay for it. Gave me some weak ass line that Polaris would just send them the parts to fix the shock and they would lose out on the whole deal. The bearing cap broke out of the shock body and the shaft was also bent. The only possible thing that could have been salvaged was the valve stack and the nut that held the stack on. I left their shop pissed right off and swore I would never darken their doors again. I'm from Saskatchewan and when I got home my dealer got the shock and my track replaced on warranty and was up and running in less than a week. Nothing worse than being taken advantage of by a dealer when they thing they have you in a tight spot when your 14 hours from home. No way to do business.

I'm just saying Jeff that some guys come into the shops out there from out of province, demand they go to the front of the line and if they aren't accomodated they scream bloody murder. I'm sure you saw that where you worked. Its not uncommon. Not saying this guy did that. You are right on Ev though. If he likes you he will move heaven and earth. If you pizz him off he's not shy showing you the door.

Good to know it isn't just the ski doo dealers that do that. Thought that was a pre requisite to get a brp dealership in bc

Ken, i actually considred a Polaris cause i thought it would be nice to have service near home and went in that shop. That changed my mind.

Chit even Dale seen it, and would not deal with it either

Some guys come in all intitled and think there chit don't stink, yes it happens

I would not buy a sled from Backus and get service there, I. D drive a bit farther, which sucks cause that's the same issue with banner

So switching brands to get service from shuswap extreme

As a mechanic myself, I can tell someone that will FIX YOUR CHIT, or patch it or try and patch it

Same, That and the fact that if you come with an attitude at all to Dave, expecting him to drop all his customers in line just because you drove 6 hrs to sled and now your POS is broke. I don;t blame him one bit. Nor any dealer who stands up for their shop and doesn't screw over pre existing customers just because someone 'passing through'
As far as smarts, not cutting corners, and doing **** right, the first time. He's up at top of the list

I was very nice left the sled with him for a couple weeks, told him I was new to revy and would buy a new sled off him as he was the closest dealer. He said my engine blew up because of a diamond S can on it. 800 e tech, also lost my key and said I didnt drop it off even though I always have it hooked to handle bars. charged me 6 hrs to pull it and tell me the warranty was no good. told him to pound sand and took it to another dealer.

I have heard, that brp will say I'm ya no with some cans

Best thing to do, is put stock can on and take it in, then no issues

That is still a bad attitude. Not sure why people defend that. Dealers or shops that help or are able to help people in need are the ones that thrive. And if you can't, at least being sympathetic helps. Dale throwing out the attitude just because he has you over a barrel is just bad business. Good move on BRP's part, guys like that are cancer.

Out of towners, on vaca and they think they own the damn place. demanding this and that, pushy in the grocery store even. Not saying all. But theres a lot. and it spoils it for everyone.

All I'm sayin is, in my business, you give me attitude, I give it right back. And first come first serve, no cuttin in line.

Believe it or not some dealers are willing to help a guy out with minor repairs
When he is from 3000miles away on a vacation to help get them going. And don't make you wait until after they fix jim Bob the locals blown crank on the 2004 rev.

I like giving those dealers my buisness.
