Best Jack for getting unstuck?

I read this post today about the Powder-Jack

I started looking to see what other options where out there and would like some feed back.
It seems that the complaint about the Powder-Jack is its quality and they say to go with the Hi-Jack.
However i came across the the Snowbuddy. There website looks cheap but, I have never seen any mention of it.
Whats everyone's opinions?

From what I've seen...jacks are a PITA... Unless you are riding a yammy maybe. They have clumsy mounting systems, add weight and don't work well. Just my opinion.

do you know what the added weight is for the Powder-Jack?
always carry a shovel but strong buddies can end up costing to many beers at the end of the night for digging you out

i gotta agree a jack on a sled is apos, if the snow is hard enought o jack off of why cant you ride out of it? shovel dig your trench rip it out. strong buds and a snow bungie best way imo.

Well - ride with your 14 yr old daughter for a day in the mtns, or get stuck where your buds can't find you and you may have a different opinion. I have the Hi-Jacker. Used it for 4 years now and worth its weight in gold. Especially useful for cranking out Yammies owned by my buddies.

Usually takes about 5 minutes for whole process (off, jack out, put back on). There are a lot of times where a shovel or a couple of hands pulling are quicker and easier that the jack. But I bet I use it once a day if I am trying hard. I make sure to spray the shaft down with silicone after each use - and it has worked pretty flawlessly. Seems to be especially useful on the last stuck of the day!

I rode 56 days in the mountains last winter and stuck is second nature but I still go with what I said before.....with the long track and shovelling in front and the running boards and it is usually just throttle after that. Sometimes,
it is turn the sled over but I wouldn't think about a jack. Sorry....

The Hi-Jack is the original and the best. I have the knockoff Powder Jack....works fine. For those that "dis" them....you've never seen them used. Weighs less than a big turd in the AM, comes off and sets up in about 30 seconds, and gets the sled out with minimal effort. Edit: and for those of us with bad backs (I'm sure I'm not the only one), it makes the difference between riding a 1/2 day or going 3 or 4 days in a row....

Spend the extra and get the hi jacker. I have the powder jack and it's not even close to the original. I wish I would have just bought the hi jack first. Lesson learned.

As for using it. I think they are great. Even if it adds a few pounds to the sled. You can get unstuck without using much energy, which leaves more energy for riding.

I may be a bad example though. I get stuck all the time so I'm always tired.
