What I have had happen is the small clip at the back of the gaiter come undone then the gator stretches above the back of my boot even with the front snap to the laces done up. I have had the gaiter stretch even with this clip done up.

The gaiters JMCX mentions work great, and I started off wearing that style, but I find the strap under the boot doesn't last long on sharp running boards.

It would be great if a manufacturer put a loop on the back of the boot for gaiter tie-down.

I do wear a tall set of tog bibs.

I might have a look at Motorfist gear at the sled show, my klim boots are 5yrs as well and don't have a lot of tread left, again from the running boards. But I cannot complain about the mileage I've gotten out of my Klim gear! Great stuff! Maybe I should replace my running boards!

I as well recommend motorfist, they have a a great product and support and go out of there way to make there customers happy. You don't see that type of service anywhere anymore.

I would also recommend MotorFist ;)

Check the material on our gaiter vs anyone else's. Our is thicker and built for the dumbest of scenarios where sharp stuff may cut or rip a gaiter. AND they are adjustable to a very narrow boot opening to a wide one.

Once you see the thickness of the gaiter material it will show you how we see gaiters.....they need to be tough!!! Like yo mamma! See for yourself when you compare us vs. brand X.

.....and it needs to snow. It to hot and I miss my sled.

I will be taking a very close look at the MF gaiters at the sled show:) Thanks

Myself I just switched to Patagonia soft shell pants and have no need for gaiters. I Am using there mountaineering/alpine climbing pants, highly doubt I will go back to klim again.
Just a heads up. Patagonia gives one percent of there sales to environmental groups which work hard to shut down riding areas. They mention the supporting environmental groups on their website.

I got the Skidoo Helium 50's last year and I love them. The gaiter has a strap that goes through the laces and snaps so it won't come unhooked.

Start taking photos of you riding in Patagonia gear and email them to them thanking them for their awesome products and how, without them, you'd never be able to conquer those big-bad mountains.

Doo you think the snowmobile world would get them to change their mind?

While my post was tongue in cheek, yes I do. Maybe not this company in particular, but anything is possible. My sister is an avid back country backpacker (who is ok with us and what we do) who has a few elitist friends who aren't cool with ATV/Sledders at all. I've tried to make them see the light and a couple have a new-found respect for us, while others choose to keep being anti-sled but that's their choice.

I showed this thread to my sister and she said the fans of Patagonia are pretty hardcore types that even she finds overzealous but maybe the company themselves would appreciate the feedback from sledders who use and enjoy the products. Any good feedback couldn't hurt, right?
