no more mexico for me....my last sun vacation was at a Sandals resort in the Bahamas....Royal Bahamian....service was unreal, and food was amazing. That vacation ruined my wife and I for normal resorts....Sandals only from now on.

So far the best beach I have been to has been to was Cayo Santa Maria in Cuba but stay on the western side Iberostar, Melia way better beaches white as snow and the consistency of flour so soft it is almost tough to walk in like trudging through snow. Water as clear can be went out snorkelling at the beach was like the surface of the moon nothing there went real far out looking for rocks was in about 25' of water and you could still count every grain of sand on the bottom only seen couple sting rays and few stars But there is really nothing there as far as excursions we did most ones they offered that weren't shopping trips.
Grand Bahia in Jamaica was fun lots of reggae bands playing music good shows at night beach was awesome for snorkelling really clear water
Can't go wrong with grand Bahia in Mexico akumal or tulum... coba and si kan are not beach front thinking about trying Barcello this year....I know 3 different people that went to Cancun and the Maya already this year and said the beaches got pounded this year by hurricanes so right not they are really rocky and hard on the feet in the water
Someone mentioned the Royal Decameron is Puerto Vallarta/Bucerius would be smaller kid friendly but I guess depending on your age if you like it or not good food clean rooms good shows (Lookie Lookie)......I hated it this place it was Gods waiting room people went there to visit just before they die the average age was about 70 food and drinks were set up for older people. The only place were I have ever seen a line up of wheel chairs, walkers and scooters and the steps down to the beach. Not saying the wife and are big partiers by any means but it was not the place for us I could go on and on

I book on line all the time just make sure you shop around last week expedia ans escapes had trip going to Maya staying at Barcello went trough evereything looked at flight numbers went to Westjet site looked at identical flights and everything and it was $600 more per person on westjet site.

I always try to book Vacations in this order

Air Transat
Westjet
Air Canada
Sunwing

Air Transat have nice big planes working TVs good service and food good flight times. Westjet TV's have never ever worked on flights and they usually want to go through the center of the universe Toronto to get a good deal. AC had to rank higher than Sunwing well cause I had too...Sunwing is kinda crappy bad customer service most of the time bad flight times always want to fly outta of YEG at midnight and fly back from you destination at 7 am on a 7 day holiday and if they have a problem with a plane they fly parts out of Vancouver talked to peeps at resorts that have had lots of problems with sunwing
Now saying that I would fly any of them for the right price and right flight times

Depends what you like Ron ! Cabo is tons of fun with lots to do and see....
Some great bars and restaurants .
The rio palace is awesome in a gorgeous spot, stayed there Agee times....
On the down side Cabo is not the most beach friendly as well (big waves).

If you want to snorkel stay close to playa on the Mayan side and hop on the ferry over to Cozumel .
Some of the nicest beaches you will ever see...
We rented scooters and toured the island....
17 beer round trip.....
Cozumel is my favorite in Mexico with Cabo a close second....
Have fun, you must be ready for a little r&r by now....

A bunch of us are heading down soon , not sure where yet.
Enjoy my friend......cheers.

X2 for bahai principe. Loved the place, food was great and lots of attractions nearby. If you go there you have to go snorkelling at xelha. Place is amazing.

Friend got married there and everyone spoke pretty highly of it.

We started using a travel agent. Paying the same or less than web sites

Travel agent for us as well. Going back to another Excellence resort again this year through Transat. We booked early this year just because the wife isn't as flexible to when she can go, and we're picky about our flights.

Have been booking through a travel agent as well, prices are pretty much on par with all of the vacation sights if not less .

That was a post from last year Richard, and we must have ended up changing resorts because we went to the excellence riviera Cancun. This year is excellence playa mujeres.
Grande Palladium on the Mayan Riviera.
