Looking for a nice beach with clean lake water to take our one year old for the day. Was thinking maybe forfar, crimson lake. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Old McDonalds Farm on Buffalo Lake is a good spot for children. The kids have lots to see and do to entertain themselves. Seeing that Jr is 1year old, I would wait a few more years before setting them loose.

Sandy Beach was nice, when I lived there in 97 But I haven't been there for a few years now, lol. Has the lake ever recovered?

sylvan is good for young kids, shallow for several hundred yards from beach area. gull is the same. seeing as you were thinking crimson lake. Pine lake is heavy algie starting later this month. of the bunch in red deer area, sylvan would get the nod. water will be warm, bring muskol n suntan lotion. things for kids to do(limited for 1-2 yr olds though).

We were at parkland beach (gull lake ) a couple weeks ago and it was nice, great for the kids because it's shallow and there were maybe 12 people there.

last time we were at Crimson (couple years ago) there were giant leaches. Not sure if that was a one time thing or if it's common there.
