The clouds broke today and I have never seen the peaks with so much snow on them out here. They look like the peaks in Alaska, all white and no rocks showing!

People have to take the attitude that it can happen to me. We need to take the training so we can limit the risk and come home. I've lost two friends in avalanches, my one friend survived the first one and his attitude after was that it won't happen to him again, and ten years later he wasn't so lucky and was killed in one. Please take the training and get educated, if not for then do it for your friends and family!!

the worst part of the recent weather is the friggin wind, holy tornado today in the high country. major wind loading happening with the huge amount of fresh snow is going to make the already sketchy hills super dangerous around here but the meadows and trees will be sick.

Don't mean to come off pizzen anyone off but facts are facts all areas 4 whistle Blackcomb 5 It's great we are getting so much. That being said it would be wise to keep to the lower chit for a bit till it gets a chance to settle in. The sport really doesn't need anymore bad publicity and devastated families so please use caution and think it is possible and it can happen to you. Here's a little reminder this was found round 12' down. DSCN1559.jpg

at 12 ft your not going to be found alive tex. i know you think i'm being a pain, but i have seen things that i don't want to see again. with the amount of snow sitting on a very loose base that needs time to set up, it will slide and will go to depth, your chances are poor to bad for survival.

people just be careful, loosing 1 sledder to the white monster is to much.
