Pretty bad...We knew or any one that was riding a sled around up on Owlhead this spring knew this was a possibility.Cool dry spring and then some rain... lookout. That water has to come down the hill. Not much anyone could do about it except wait and hope it didn't happen. Was a hell of a sled season though.......

My summer skiing adiction is on hold till the river level drops and the debri clears up.

yes may long i was up there and reports are saying there is at least 3 meters of snow that still has to melt in most of the Rockies.

Hope your family is ok and out of the woods now Corrisa. thoughts go out to all affected by the flooding.

thank you my departure lol, has been delayed a few days here, but i will post new photos and info as i see it. this little town really need summer visitors to come so the shops can stay open for us sledders in the winter. this issue could effect the winter visitors too and as it is now with all hotels open in the winter they are turnning people away! we even let some stay in our cabins that had no water(lines are 18" under and they freeze unless house is heated from the get go) and they were sooo happy. SO... i am buying a truck load of food and my daughter and i are off to help!

and yet the government still lets ppl build in 100 year flood plains , this doesnt make any sense to Willy ???

They are discussing that right now in the M.D. around the Foothills I guess the towns can tell developers they can not build in a flood prone area but the developers can challenge it with another piece of government and get the approval to build. Of course after they build and sell out they fold the company and start a new one so they can't be sued by the buyers that have not done their homework. What a sad state of affairs we have in our little town.

Wow. Hopefully the town and its population doesn't suffer too much. My mom's place flooded in Chase, but nothing like what's been happening in Sicamous. Best wishes and hope for a speedy recovery for all involved.

Mom and dad talked to Gords dad last night and said everything was good with the properties. Just had to get the boats out of the water. Thanks for the heads up though!:)
