i need you all to pray the property where my parents live at swansea point just out side of sicamous, the creek is going over its bank and haeaded for there home this means it will flood, this is everything they own. i am super worried for them. they can not get anywhere close to the area and heavy rainfall is coming for the next 24 hrs. the creek flooded once before about 13 yrs ago and it destroyed 70% of the property so please pray that the rain will stop.

my dad called and said that highways is there right now as the water is going over hwy 97a right now.

as well overkill131313 his parents live in the same area i was contacted by his son saying that they are sending boats in to get people out as the hwy is closed and they can not get anywhere close.
please pray im not sure if i am going to drive out right now or fly out in the morning but ill keep you posted.

these photos are of the down town beach in sicamous as well as a before photo the water is up at least 8-10' and there is still lots of snow yet to melt

update right now via overkill131313 is the bridge is washed out at 2 mile on mara lake and then our creek flooding at 6 mile. he is there with a quad to go to get my dad and check on the house, right now there is no water cresting at the house it is cresting about a 100yrd down(where the tree is in front of the dog) and running out the front of the property and running down the hwy(97a) to the lake. there is a back hoe on its way to open up the hwy where the culvert is to help the flow. so far so good!
the trans canada west of revy has a mud sled and will not be assessed till tomorrow morning so i cant even get to them as of right now. im super grateful ok13 is there to help. ill post with more news as i get it.

That house doesn't look to be in danger, looks like you would have to see a 300% increase to have it threaten that big bank.

It is a few feet from cresting as that photo is from a week ago the last ones show the water is over the hwy. but I got word the hoe opened up the hwy! And it's going down slowly

Garry just sent me these photos the one looking at the house that is not the creek bed the original one is to the right 100' or so this new one goes down the middle of the front yard. he said there has been no power since midnight

You can get pink, I left Red Deer Friday morn to Vancouver, loaded my daughter's furniture to move back. Was having something to eat in Sicamous when slide came down. Had to go back to salmon arm, Vernon, Lumby, needles and shelter bay ferrys and up to Revy. Just went through Canmore it's been an all nighter but can be done. Good luck to all.

here is more video at 2 mile creek not 6 mile where my parents are. the reason why everyone in between 2-6 mile are stuck.

right now everyone in between is waiting for boats to come get them or bring them back to there homes Garry did text me that his parents are waiting to get a water taxi back out to thier place at 6 mile to assess the damages if any to there place, i have not heard back from him yet. my parents are waiting for one as well to move the fire truck to the other side of the creek to help people in between these mile markers.

Just to let peeps know that I was just told that there is a mudslide around tete jaune and the highway is closed.

yes it is, as well hwy1 is closed west of revy due to a mud slide last night and has not been opened yet. here is a link to drive BC with all roads that are closed
