Because thats pretty standard, they wouldnt engineer a failsafe backup system on a ship. And if they did, meh it fails no biggie. Engineers never over do anything, especially on a container ship....

My plant i work at has battery backup and it doesnt even move.

Stopped recording data for 2 minutes, not suspicous at all...

Wow, people will come up with anything.

Ships don’t have black boxes, like they do on planes. They have data recorders but they do not monitor all of the systems like a planes black box does. The commands on a ship are verbal from the captain to the crew.
The captain of a airplane can be quiet and control the plane.

They have a AIS and it can be turned off, fishermen do it all the time to hide their position.

Lol, These are just the ones you heard of, there was a bridge stuck in china in February of this year.

There are more tractors trailer accidents as well, is that a conspiracy also? Or just a case of LOFT?
Coming up, on the snow and mud conspiracy report.

I heard the investigation could last up to 2 years.

Wonder if the captain is in jail.

It is April 1, fake news will be everywhere today on social media, just more than the normal fake news.

You can see now why they have mandatory use of Tugboats in the harbors. They are safe and effective.
This was discussed somewhere (I can't remember where...radio, tv or social media) but the logitsics and costs would be astronomical because it would tie up tugboats for many, many hours per ship. There are 1000's of ships that travel in and around bridges and ports....they currently only put tugs on high priority cargo's ( expolsives, oil, etc) Those costs would filter down to us, the end user.

Better plan would be to have more stringent maintenance rules to ensure these failures don't happen.

also maybe look into the structure and protection of a bridge after 50 years. build some protection piers out away from the base so a ship can't actually hit the bridge supports may be a good start.
