Maybe one guy was from BC and threw a mary jane joint in the tank to finish it. the one photo looks quite a flamable burst like fresh gas to do it in.

pic 5 fire looks to be out, seat and hood seem intact. pic 4 fire is out and sled is destroyed, sitting in a different spot.

no it half ass'd went out and they tried putting snow to snuff it out and it just melted through and kept burning .
they moved the sled. i never put them in sequence.. sorry guys.. the flames got so high and close to the trees so they moved it
4th pic is the start.
2nd pic it was moved away from the trees right before this it was completely full of fuel. hence the fireball. i would hate to see a forest fire started.
3rd pic sled is half melted im pretty positive the brake level melted off..doesnt look on to me.
then after the flames calmed down it was dragged to the side of the trail..
He's a good sport about it, he was upset but insurance covered it, hes bought a newer summit and supports the trails and pays his fee's. I can guarantee there was no foul play in this seeing how he just bought the sled and never rode it once before. The dealership he bought it from gave him a large gift certificate for replacement of his riding gear and any other damages.

I would have to agree with you teeroy.Hopefully the insurance company dose not check out this threat. Would be a good idea to edit those certian pics out !!!!!

Legal fires are hard to come by. If my sled catches fire and someone tries putting it out I would throw them at it.

I can attest that putting a sled fire out is hard, especially once the fire gets to a fuel line and gets under the engine. You think its out and then you see flames again and again. In our scenario we were able to snuff the fire finally with snow, just 2 of us there as well. It is possible but we were stopped and already had shovels out as we were digging out that sled at the time, i think once it hits the plastic oil tank and contents though you are screwed. If this poor fellow didn't see it until his leg was on fire then it was probably a lost cause already. Sucks but oh well, that's the price of sledding sometimes.
