Ok so my son just bought a 2015 with Boost it turbo and I have a backfire on a climb and just runs ****ty most of the time I am thinking it’s nothing to do with turbo but may be wrong. On a pull at about 7800 rpm it starts to lose power and then backfires. I have fresh fuel in it checked over everything I can think of.Also the y pipe is a gross yellow colour inside .Just bought the sled and not likely gonna get the real story from past owner. Is this possible just a bad plug or weak coil. Any help would be really appreciated

Backfire through the exhaust is more likely loud and hard on your ears?

this most likely would be rich condition. Especially if you chop the throttle hard and a lot really fast, you will get a pop.

lean conditions most of the time do not backfire, the sled will sound really off and not run right. A lean and rich condition under 6599 can feel the same to be aware.

you can check the plug wire yourself with a multi meter. Check the ohm resistant value, should be 50ish or less.

Lots of good info on here from previous and current boost it owners, your title should have that in it to get more attention from them.. Sounds like a easy adjustment needed in your ixc box..

Are the spark plugs indexed? It's common to tighten the plug gap to 20 thou when boosted. I don't know what stock XM gap is though.

Ya they are indexed and are pointed right at injector. I have a Boost it on my 16 and didn’t change gap at all from stock and works awesome. Not that each sled isn’t a little different. I maybe should try my Boost it box on it and see if same

Yellow is most likely from AVgas. Mine was always that way, and also the plugs would yellow.

Yellow plugs, even a yellow/green, with av gas is a indicator of running rich, means there potentially lead fouled plugs.
