So all the t3 watch from the bottom ur saying??
the biggest variable on any of these comparisons is the skill of the pilot and even that is not exact science you can catch a very good rider on a bad day as well. enjoy what you ride and challenge yourself to be better a 2016 pro because of the power increase and new track will work better than comparable 2015 sled 8 inches longer.

Can you notice the difference in track width when riding the axys compared to your t3?

Hey he must be right.. I mean he can balance his sleds on one ski, just like maxwell...
I know what he's talking about, and just like today I'm not really in a ride hard go mode

And the area we were in I had never been, so I didn't get too far from our group

So Jim and I went for a Sunday ride (on Thursday) down a little creek with the AXYS sleds. This is where they really shine. I don't know why we were 4 hours late for the New Years party and not sure why we came out in the dark? I guess we were tired.

Here is one picture if the drop box link doesn't work. And not trying to hyjack this thread, it is to show the terrain where we compare these sleds.

Why can't you compare a 174 to an axys? That would be top sled out of the box to top sled out of the box. With the pro being 50lbs lighter they should equal out no?

The whole point of a comparison is apples to apples, 163 3" vs 163 3".

Cause doo still has the track advantage over the axys anyway. The 163 16wide has a larger surface area on the snow, than poos 15 wide 163.

It will be interesting to see if the other three play in the 174 arena I do not thing so I think the 163 poo will be a well thought out belt system and lighter improved track while kitty Yamaha will have a ctec 2smoke and go on a slight diet

you probably should but Polaris marketing is really not pushing the virtue s of the 3 inch I see most of these beautiful looking sleds in our area hanging out at the cabins while guys with the 2'6 are having a blast in almost all conditions

Tracks are not all about how deep the lug is or how wide it is. I see lots of times when a smaller lug track is beating up on the deeper lug track. Some tracks seem to trench more than others and a lighter track may outperform a heavier track just because it develops more track speed. I thought that a 3" track would be the best in bottomless pow but a few times this season I have seen much different. As far as 16 inch wide is concerned it does provide more flotation but also more forward resistance as it has to push more snow out of the way to make a wider path. The length is most important. When you have a wide long and deep lug track like the T3 it will get you places but getting there may not always be as fun as with a smaller lighter track.

Honestly its just a preference thing. I love my Doo. If Doo changed nothing for next year, that is still what I'd get.

Some of my friends like the Polaris, and it seems to get around fine too.

Yeah more sleds the better. I don't really like jumping back and forth between chassis's though. You'll progress faster if you stick to one IMO

Lol, yep jumping off a familiar chassis to a strange one can land one into uncomfortable situations forsure.

All the new sleds are awesome. I started in the mountains in 1987. I had a 1982 John Deere Liquifire with a tapered tunnel. I then progressed through the years to a Polaris 500, then a XLT then a 700, 800 and a M1000. This yea I am riding a 2015 T3 174 and all I can say is wow!! I have also rode a 2016 Axys 163. These machines are incredible. These young riders don't know how god they have it. Before Christmas I took my T3 and my 1996 XLT to Valemount. We got the XLT stuck!!!! Oh my god. I ha forgot oh my god I had forgot how hard it was to get these older sleds unstuck.. It sure makes you appreciate the new sleds.
