1. You should be able to see light through your rad. Always clean it well and when you think you're done, clean it some more.
2. If it is only taking a few minutes to overheat, you probably have an air lock and will need to "burp" the cooling system and then top it up.
3. During the summer, try running Engine Ice instead of regular coolant. It works quite well as long as you do a good job of flushing the old coolant out.

X2 .......... clean rad. If you suspect air lock try running the quad with the rad cap off and the front end of the quad up at a pretty good angle.

yamaha 700 grizz overheating

Thats a great description... Here, let me pull out the right answer out of my hat with that very descriptive post.

How long does it take to over heat? Is the rad plugged? Are you going slow? Are you in mud? Do you have large tires? Is your coolant topped up? Is it a 50/50 ratio? Does your fan come on? Does your hot light come on? Are you riding it too hard? Do you let it cool down? How long for it to heat back up? What makes you think it's overheating?

What do you want me to do? Agree with you? Need advice? Or just making a statement?

Sometimes its whatcha gotta do.

That post reminded me of the person who goes to Tim Hortons and says "donut" and expects the one they want without saying I want a blueberry fritter, or a honey dip.

Have the same atv, mine is also overheating. Was plowing for a bit then pulled my fish hut to the river and the rad stated to bubble fluid. Let it cool got it home and didn't run it for 2 days. Started it up everything was fine for about an hour then steam started to come from the rad. So I have flushed the rad out, took it out and cleaned it up. Just putting it back together now. I will let you know how things go.
