we are a country of atheists, agnostics, and people that believe in the the magic man (in that order).

You sure about your stats? List of religious populations - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The CIA's World Factbook gives the world population as 7,021,836,029 (July 2012 est.) and the distribution of religions as Christian 33.35% (of which Roman Catholic 16.83%, Protestant 6.08%, Orthodox 4.03%, Anglican 1.26%), Muslim 22.43%, Hindu 13.78%, Buddhist 7.13%, Sikh 0.36%, Jewish 0.21%, Baha'i 0.11%, other religions 11.17%, non-religious 9.42%, atheists 2.04% (2009 est.)

According to Stats Can? Seriously?? That is your best source?

Well according to Stats Can - you are seriously trenching if you believe anything that comes out of Stats Can.

I see a lot of christians out sledding on Sundays -- and not too many bolts of lightning striking them from the mountains. -- Weird eh? Oh wait!! The odd avalanche is probably the work of your saviour.

Im curious as to why you have such a negative opinion of Christians? I know there are some bad examples, but you get that with anything. There have been hockey coaches that have molested their players........does that mean that we should associate the sport of hockey with child molestation and the evil that it represents? No, because it is just a case of a few bad apples. So why do people do the same thing with religion? There have been some very bad things done by "religious" people. Does that in any way represent Christianity? Nothing could be further from the truth. Christians have made some horrible mistakes throughout history. It seems it is human nature to royally screw things up.

But if you take an honest look at Christianity and what it is all about, I dont see what there isnt to like. It is based on love, forgiveness, humility, serving others, and countless other good things. Im not the type of guy to get on my soap box and try to "convert" anyone. It just bothers me that such a good thing can be SO mis-interpreted. And I wasnt really raised as a Christian. I came to believe by my own choice after tonnes of research and thought.

You may not agree with the Christian faith, but I encourage you to educate yourself as to what it is really about before making any decisions. If you choose not to, at least respect the opinions of beliefs of others.

Yeah I am sure of my stats.

The people that matter don't tend to take part is polls.

Are you sure of your stats? Wikipedia is a great source if you are looking for general information - but it is certainly not the definitive source of all knowledge.

I am going to stick to my original ascertation from the people I know --- religion in Canada is limited to a few catholics buggering young boys and christians running businesses that .........

Tell ya what, Einstein....you go ask 20 people if they believe in "something" of a higher power....I will bet you that at LEAST 15 say they do. Being non-religious or an atheist is no issue to me, but be assured, you ARE the minority on the planet.

The point of this thread is that nobody....and that includes Ashole Solo and you...can tell anyone else what to believe or not believe, or how to practice what they believe.

Yeah. Whatever.

I am not going to argue this point further.

Some of us just do good. Some of you say a holy mary and you are forgiven for the ch!t that your conscience should bother you about.

Throw your stats and your holier than thou attitudes in the ditch - this is Canada.

When religion rules we will have an Ayatolla in Canada - God is just a cartoon character for old people.

I prefer to be free and Canadian. I would be embarrassed to be a sheep christian. Good luck to you though.

Have I given any clues whatsoever about my religious affiliations? Try telling someone face to face some day that you "would be embarrassed to be a sheep christian"....see what happens. Good luck to you though.

I have told someone face to face that I would be embarrassed to be a "sheep christian".

Actually multiple times.

The person in question was speechless ---- he is a friend of mine and a christian and then he laughed his ass off.

And to answer your question - No. You did not give a clue about your religious affiliation. I assumed that you were from the Church of the Rotating Vulva? but I could be wrong?

Well keep up the good work. More blood has been spilled in the history of humanity in the name of religion than for any other reason...whats some more spurting out of some dumb red neck's nose matter.

Wtf is with society now. Why cant we as canadians express our beleifs religiously ect. These rag heads come to our country and cant speak a english clear enough for the next person to understand we become frustrated And miraculously tjey think we are racist and go for human right. You leave your country cause your scared and dont have freedom so you come toours and push your religious crap on us well leave it at home where you came from If we went to your country and pursued our religion we would be tortured and shot dead end of question we wouldnt be able to wear a ball cap in your police force over tnere so why should you wear a rag or carry a dagger in our legal system Enough is enough. We NEED TO STAND UP FOR OURSELVES Beleive your own religion but dont force it on us coming to our country. Muslim Demographics - YouTube. Scary we can let this happen cause it is.
