Sad to say after going for 9 straight years, I will not be checking out this years show. It's been getting smaller and more expensive every year. Pretty disappointing, seems like the big manufacturers and a few big dealers is about all that's there anymore, I really miss all the small shops that used to be there selling their stuff. Sounds like most of them have been priced out of the show.

I'd really like to see this show move to Red Deer with a lower cost venue all around, draw people and vendors from calgary and edmonton. Edmonton seems to be losing out on more and more things like this.

Red Deer would be sweet!... Coming from Calgary it is even more expensive.

The Centrium and it’s attached buildings would be an ideal place to hold it. Plenty big enough.

Red Deer is only an hour to an hour and a half from Edmonton with lots of newer hotels to chose from. I’ve driven farther for less lol.

Moving the show there may lose some northerners, but it would likely pick up more people from the south and BC and be a good mid point for vendors from both major cities. Especially if the cost to setup and participate is less.

Moving it to Red Deer will definitely lose the Northern people. 4-8 hours already to Edmonton, depending on where you live. Add a couple more hours to that and you’d lose a large group.

I hear ya, It just adds to the cost of people driving south, but if it loses a few from the north and gains a ton from the south it's a win. If it stays in Edmonton there won't be a show in a few years.

Hahaha, I guess so. What’s a 2.5 hr drive from Calgary to Edmonton compared to 5.5 hrs. I guess that way you can go to the show and sleep in your own bed at night.

I'm usually way too drunk to find my way home to my own bed.

I was there two years ago as well... first time I hit up the Edmonton show. Not the show I was expecting, kinda disappointing... Been many times to the smaller shows in the Calgary area, the lower cost venue with a “swap meet” setting outdoors was a lot better. Hosting at these larger inner city venues is a waste of money. IMO sledders would travel to a smaller, low cost place that has a more grassroots feel.
Totally agree with the smaller more grassroots feel. Many smaller cities surrounding Edmonton could facilitate no problem.

Everyone that can attend should and show support for this event, the vendors and sport. Everyone brings something to the table and their efforts towards a recreational opportunity that we all enjoy should be reflected in the people walking through the booths and halls. After all...it’s almost time to let er buck boys and girls!

I always make a point of going. Yes it’s getting more expensive and the show does seem to be getting smaller. However it’s the one event of the year that gets me pumped up about the upcoming season. Plus seeing old friends and the new iron is always a good time. I’m taking my wife’s 15y/o cousin with me this year, I took him sledding once last year around the farm and he’s hooked!

So just go and support the show even if you don’t plan on buying anything. The least you can do is buy a beer and some mini donuts

We are heading down from Prince Albert, SK. for the show. I was on the fence about going but since I was going to miss the Sask show this year, and its really small compared to what your show looks like, I figured we could make the trek to Edmonton. Then I got shopping and as it works out Freedom Powersports from Edson is going to deliver my kids new sled to us there, so now I have a real excuse to hit up the show. Hopefully find a deal on a onesie for my daughter while we are there too.
