I would guess that a large portion of those people that own sleds that are not part of clubs aren't educated about the land closure issue and how supporting clubs can help in the fight. Many people that own sleds just ride around their area (not talking about the mountain areas) with their kids and never go to the mountains. I realize more and more are getting into mountain riding, but there are still many that don't. Considering that most of the closures talked about on here are in the mountain back country areas, those that don't ride mountains may not see the benefit of being involved in clubs. For those getting involved in mountain riding, maybe one way to get the message out is for the ASA and BCSF to create a brochure (maybe they already have one) and approach the dealerships to see if they will distribute to people buying new sleds, especially mountain sleds. Don't know if that is the answer, but from personal experience, I didn't know about these issues until I started visiting this site. Many sledders don't look at this site and simply may not be educated on the closure issue.
