Approved Electronic Immobilizer - for insurance purposes

Would the tether systems like doo and the new cats be considered an electronic immobilizer? It is worth another 10% off if they were. They are unique and the sled requires the matched tether before they will start.

I believe the skidoo system qualifies not sure on the Cat as I think the tethers are universal and easy to bypass

My cat tether has a small bar code on it. It no longer uses a universal push lock system. I would assume this is unique to each sled?

Anyone know for sure?

I would say no, these can be bought for the older cat models that didn't come with the magnetic ones and installed. I've swapped a couple. They are not tied into the ECM like the doo ones.

I don’t have a cat but read that those teathers will work on a poo. So Likely wired through a normally closed contact to ground in the kill switch circuit.

Just unplug it.

Exactly. Hardest part is getting to the wiring. Even then it's not all that difficult.

Literally can unplug and bypass the new tether on my 18 in 5 seconds, open panel on exhaust side and unplug connector that is all
